On-line file backups

1 New Member
Since our organization accelerates business applications across the distributed enterprise, we require some D2D backup repository to accelerate file backup and recovery.
Please suggest some rock-solid platform for maintaining backups on-line that can self manage large files like Web 2.0 rich media, video surveillance data.

I found a PHP based email obfuscator for use in websites, where the source HTML (PHP, actually) file doesn't contain the actual email address in the Mailto tag, but generates it and that generated page (containing a full and conventional Mailto: tag) is what is ultimately presented to the user. The intent is to thwart Spam bots and spiders, by NOT having the email address in the original HTML Source, but ultimately presenting it to...

Hi I've got two servers I can use for a website. The one (I'll call it 'X') I need to keep most of the site on doesn't have all the PHP libraries on I need, but I can't put the whole site on the other (called 'Y') because I can't use the database from there. So, I need a way to be able to call the libraries (GD and PDF) from X with the functions on Y. For both of these, I need to be able to write the result of the function running on Y...

How would you approach this task? I have a phpBB forum on my site. The majority of participants are Russians living in the US, who don't know Russian keyboard layout. Is it possible to provide them with some sort of a button, in the posting edit window to convert latin characters into cyrillic characters? TIA for any ideas and/or links. -- Vadim Zima Certified Russian Translator/Conference Interpreter

I need information on how to implement the PFPRO function within Verisign on a Windows platform. I hope it isn't true but I believe Verisign does not support PFPRO functions on Windows platforms only Unix. Has anyone handled e-commerce transaction via PHP on a Windows platform through Verisign. Again does anyone have any examples or has anyone here implemented an ecommerce site utilizing PHP on a Windows platform through Verisign using...

With ASP.NET I've found that request are processed sequentially, one at a time, at least on a server with one CPU. If one request blocks for some reason, maybe on a long database query, then all users must wait until it completes, for their request to process. This leaves me wondering about PHP running on IIS and Window. Does this hold true for PHP also? What about PHP on Unix? Does this allow true simultaneous processing of all...

The following upload script seems to be working on PCs but not on Macs. Can anyone imagine a reason why? Could there be something in the form that turns in flawed data, or could IE on a Mac not pass along certain data that Netscape and IE do on a PC? function standardImageUpload() { $controllerForAll = & getController();

when i first load index.php with arguments ie: "index.php?page=x", the $_SERVERvalue is null. I then get the session id appended to each link. If i refresh the page, I get the $_SERVER I want, but if i click a link $_SERVER returns the value I want and the session id. Any ideas as to how I can get the $_SERVER to return the arguments on first page load?

I've got a PHP system working on a development server (Windows 2000/IIS5/PHP 4.3.3) but it doesn't seem to be working quite right on the testing server (same except PHP 4.2.3). I upgraded the PHP on the testing server but that didn't seem to make any difference. One difference I noticed is that on the dev server, the session cookie is modified on EVERY page load. On the testing server the cookie gets created alright but it doesn't seem...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
