We are currently developing a new application. In this application, we
have a table which will hold a large number of rows, where many text
fields (one text field per row) will be stored. The users would prefer
to have an unlimited field size (in spite of the fact that most of all
fields have much less than 4000 characters), so we chose CLOB as the
datatype of the corresponding column.
We experienced very poor performance when we were...

Hi, I cannot view CLOB fields when I use the Sample Contents in the
Control Center. When I insert values, I see the CLOB fields as blank.
A fellow developer is using the exact same DB2 UDB version on the
desktop, connecting to the DB2 UDB 8.1 on AIX, and he can see the
sample contents just fine.
When I use Java to query the data, the data prints out just fine
(using a Clob data type and BufferedReader). What settings do I need
to...

In Oracle you can have a statement such as
insert into foo (foo_id,some_clob) values (100,empty_clob())
where empty_clob() inserts a clob address.
What is the approach in DB2 (8.1) to creating a row
having with a CLOB and no contents but with no null?

Hi everyone,
I am a developer working on php with oracle as backend.
I am facing a problem related with the CLOB data.
The problem is as follows
My application uses a table which contains Clob datatype.
I need to do a search on this table based on the clob data,i.e., I am
using the column which is a clob datatype in the where clause.
The query is as follows
" select * from mytable where (dbms_lob.instr(mybody, 'as') > 0)"

Hello,
This query (PHP+Oracle) works:
global $user,$pass,$sid;
$db_charset = 'UTF8';
$db = OCILogon($user, $pass, $sid, $db_charset);
$clob = OCINewDescriptor($db, OCI_D_LOB);
$txt_clob = $arguments;

When I am SELECT'ing a CLOB column from command prompt, the output is
getting truncated after a certail limit (8 K ??)
How do I get the full data out of a CLOB column? Are there any string
manipuration functions for CLOB fields to read it in multiple chunks ?
Thanks in advance.

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
