I am making a webpage that gets his information from an as400 system.
Now I seemed to hit some weird problem.
I have for example this select:
select field1,field2 from table
this is over 25.000 results. and works perfectly
now the second I add a where clause
select field1,field2 from table where field1 = 'test'
I get SQL query exceeds specified time limit or storage limit.
How can the same statement with a limitation have problems on storage or time, since it should have less results.
Hope someone can help me out here.
Thx in advance

Is it possible to limit the query time in MySQL (3.x or 4.0)? For
example, I'd like to have any query that takes more than a specified
number of seconds just quit automatically. Seems dumb, but on a web
site, nobody is going to wait minutes for a query to return so they
refresh anyway. So on a busy server, MySQL ends up with several queries
running that all take a long time to finish which compound to make it
even slower. A simple time...

What are the theoretical and practical limits on the length
of a GET query string, currently?
Strange to say, I found this rather simple question hard to answer,
possibly because of searching the wrong terms, or, rather, because
the terms ("get", "form", "length" etc.) are so common as to be
useless for searching.
An email correspondent assures me that there's an RFC which limits the
length of a URI, including query string, to 1024...

I would like help resolving this problem. I'm a novice who's been
hired to query a hospital database and extract useful information,
available to me only in a dynamically generated, downloadable .mdb.
The query below query runs correctly and without error, but any
attempt to save it causes Access to crash without a message, leaving
the .ldb file. Opening the DB reveals it saved a blank "query1".
I've upgraded to Jet SP 8, and I'm running...

inner join products p
on pc.product_id = p.id
where pc.category_id = $category_id
order by p.title

Hey there,
I've been chasing a problem for the project that I'm working on and was able to narrow it down to the ORDER BY clause in my query.
The algorithm looks like this, I take a range of time selected by the user and I need to do some calculations on the items within that range of time. However, before I calculate, I need to query for the most recent row of a specified item before that time range. So my Query statement ends up...

Hello i'm intrigued by what happens behind the scenes when I do a DB query to a database from php.
I would like to know what is the exact life cycle of a mysql_query()
I ask this question because i need to know what is the best solution to count the number of rows from a query.
My query is performed to fetch records from a mysqlDb that will be displayed as a list of let's say 10 rows. If i hadn't put a sql LIMIT start, count the query...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
