Stored Procedure not working on DB2 8.1.14 on Windows XP

3 New Member
Hi,

Im trying to execute a C Stored Procedure(getTr ansactionId.sqc ) from one of Developer Works articles "Transactio n IDs in DB2 -- retrieve a unique identifier for a unit of work from the DB2 log records" by Knut Stolze and Im getting the following error upon issueing the command "db2 => CALL getTransactionI d(?)"
............... ............... ............... ..... ............... ....
SQL0444N Routine "*ACTIONID" (specific name "GETTRANSACTION ID") is
implemented with code in library or path "...\getTransac tionId.DLL", function
"getTransaction Id" which cannot be accessed. Reason code: "4".
SQLSTATE=42724
............... ............... ............... ..... ............... .

The dll file("getTransa ctionId.dll" is there under FUNCTION subdirectory). The contents of the script "getTransaction .db2" that is used for stored procedure registration with the database are as follows:
............... ............... ............... ..... ..........
CREATE PROCEDURE getTransactionI d ( OUT transactionId CHAR(12) )
SPECIFIC getTransactionI d
DYNAMIC RESULT SETS 0
MODIFIES SQL DATA
NOT DETERMINISTIC
NEW SAVEPOINT LEVEL
LANGUAGE C
EXTERNAL NAME 'D:\Programs\IB M\SQLLIB\FUNCTI ON\getTransacti onId! getTransactionI d'
FENCED THREADSAFE
NO EXTERNAL ACTION
PARAMETER STYLE SQL
PROGRAM TYPE SUB
NO DBINFO@
............... ............... ............... ..... .........
and the contents of the getTranactionId .def file are as follows (I created this file manually):
............... ............... ............... ..... .........
; getTransactionI d.def : Declares the module parameters for the DLL.

LIBRARY "getTransaction Id"

EXPORTS
getTransactionI d
; Explicit exports can go here
............... ............... ............... ..... ..........

I've tried various ways but haven't been able to get to the root of the problem. I applied FixPak 14 as well but the problem is still there.
I've posted my query so many times on "developer works" but no one has replied yet.

Please help me. Its urgent.

Actually, the whole idea is to read DB2 Log files using db2api. If anyone has any idea about this, please help.

Thanks for any help.

I'm trying to use a servlet to process a form, then send that data to an SQL server stored procedure. I'm using the WebLogic 8 App. server. I am able to retrieve database information, so I know my application server can talk to the database. I've determined the failure occurs when the the following statement is executed: cstmt.execute(); (due to the failure of println statements placed afterwards). I get the following error after trying to...

Hi, I have a stored procedure that I want to execute and then wait in a loop showing a timer whilst it completes and then carry on once I get notification that it has completed. The main reason for this being to stop the user thinking the application has frozen when in fact it is just waiting for a long SP to complete. Another reason for doing it like this is that I also have had a problem in the past where the SP takes longer than the...

I am trying to learn how to use stored procedures written in COBOL so I wrote 2 small programs to test it out: the stored procedure and the the calling program. I have no problems compiling them but when the calling program enters the SP, it either hangs or gives me sqlcode -1131. We are on AIX 5.2 (I think) running DB2 UDB ver 7.2 and MF COBOL 4.1. Below are the programs I wrote:

I am having a problem with creating a stored procedure. The premise underwhich we are operating is the following: We are working with two tables. The first table simply stores an integer value representing the last used value. The second table lists ranges of integers which have already been allocated in a legacy system. This table has two columns representing the various starting and ending values for these ranges. We wish to retrieve...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
