I don't have any user-defined fenced mode procedures installed in this
instance. These messages seem to appear when applications invoke
administrative functions and/or select from administrative views,
altough I'm not really sure exactly which ones. It looks like no
errors are returned to the applications. The fenced mode user indeed
doesn't have access to these files, which I assume is the correct
configuration.

I'll really appeciate any hints on this.

Hi, we use DB2 8.1 EEE on a Linux server. Currently, there is a long run'ner process in the task list which occupies one processor to 99%. The proces user is db2fenc and the command is db2fmp. Does anybody knows, what does it means and how I can terminate the process (or should I kill it)? Thanks, Toralf

Apologies if this is a frequently asked question but i haven't been able to find a satsifactory answer anywhere else at the moment. My problem is that i'm trying to convert an Access97 database to sql Server 2000 using the Import and Export Data wizard. I can see the list of tables but get read access errors when trying to convert them. I guess this is a security problem, because i can't see reports, forms, tables, etc. when opening the...

Is there a way to trap an error generated in another app that is controlled via automation? I have an Access 2000 app that opens Word 2000 and proceeds to open a series of documents and, in each document, parse the contents and write it to an Access table (the Access app, after opening Word, runs a macro within Word which parses and writes to the Access app via DAO). Occasionally we get an error from Word (such as "document is locked for...

Before anything else, I am not a very technical expert when it comes to VBA coding. I learned most of what I know by the excellent Access/VBA forum from bytes.com (formerly thescripts.com). Ergo, I will be writing this article intended for those who are in the same level, or maybe lower, of my technical knowledge. I would be using layman's words, or maybe, my own words as how I understand them, hoping, you will understand it the same way that...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
