Netbackup for DB2 Redirected restore

1 New Member
Currently trying to perform a redirected restore of DB2 database using Netbackup in AIX environment. The restore command completes successfully but the set tablespace commands fail due to no database connection.

Tried connecting to the database before the set tablespace command but could not because a restore was in progress.

Netbackup support has no answers and says this is an IBM issue. When using TSM to restore this database the database connection is maintained via the db2 restore command. With Netbackup, this does not appear to be the case. Any ideas??

We use redirected restore to refresh test from prod on different AIX 5.2 servers. The databases have the same number, size and names of cooked containers. The only difference is the fully qualified path contains a different "SID": eg. "/db2/PRD/data1/..." versus "/db2/TST/data1/...". (Please note as an SAP installation I cannot change this layout). We use "set tablespace container" statements to redefine the fully qualified container...

Hi There, We have an issue on our db2 restores. We do database dumps every night, and restore them to development servers every morning. This works fine with no errors. However if we backup those images to tape using Veritas netbackup, and then restore those images and try to restore them to the database, we get "The backup image is corrupt". If we run db2ckbkp against that image we get "Unable to decompress image from different platform"....

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
