Hello community,
My environment is DB2 UDB v8.2 LUW. I am experiencing a vexing problem
with using my DB2 Design Advisor. I submitted a SQL script to Advisor
for index recommendation and I am getting the error:
IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/LINUX] SQL0180N The syntax of the string
representation of a datetime value is incorrect.
SQLSTATE"007
Explanation:
The string representation of a date, time, or timestamp value
does not conform to the syntax for the specified or implied data
type.
The statement cannot be processed.
And here's the part of my SQL that I suspect is causing this error
"...and Updt.DT_When_CM PL BETWEEN (timestamp((cur rent_date-
(day(current_da te)-1)days -1 month),'00:00:0 0')) AND
(timestamp(Date (current_date-day(current_dat e)days ),'23:59:59'))" ...
I have no errors running the complete SQL in Control Center Command
Editor, or Task Center but the Design Advisor seems to take an issue
with that construct.
Anyone run into this proble? Can anyone suggest a solution and if
possible share the step by step example/procedure how to resolve
this?
I thank you for your attention and help

Windows 2000
DB2 Version 8 fixpack 4
I am attempting to use DB2 Configuration Advisor. But when I get to
the end of that wizard process (sequentially - I went through all the
steps and did not skip any)and "Review the performance configuration
recommendations" screen displayed the all current values and all new
values to be exactly the same every time. For a specific example, I
changed the memory usage percentage and the...

hi, we are using db2 udb v8.1 on windows, i try to use the
configuration advisor to get recommendation on the parameter setting,
at first, i give the target memory for DB2 is 80% of the physical
memory, it gives me a recommendation on bufferpool size, so i accept
the change, later on , i found that i gave too much memory to DB2, so
i change the target lower, but the recommendation doesn't change the
buffer pool size accordingly, why is...

Dear all,
It would be nice if the Design advisor was not outputing all "unused
indexes" of the whole database (10000 tables at least), when the workload is
only using 4 tables.
Why not limiting these "unused indexes" to the 4 tables in the workload ?
Best regards,

Does anyone have experience with running the DB2 Design Advisor on huge
workloads? I have a workload for a single day for some 132'000
statements in a file. Will the advisor handle this or should I take a
sample?
Thanks,

Dear all,
After FP8 apply on a DB2 UDB multi-partition instance, the design advisor's
MQT function is not selectable. From the DB2 Information Center (FP7), there
is nothing that suggests that MQTs should not work in multi-partition. Have
you encountered this problem (I have tested and got the problem on both
Windows and Linux) ?

Running DB2 8.1.1 on AIX 5.1
When I run the design advisor on selected sql I am getting
'recommendations' for indexes which already exist. I don't understand
why this is happening. They are described in the recommendations
exactly as they already exist. Relatively new to DB2.
Not sure if this is normal but don't understand, yet, why it would be.
Thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
