Dear all,
I have a problem with a redirecting stdout and stderr. I am a top level
module and has no control over the imported modules that are making
system calls such as os.system or popen2.* . I have tried the simplest
method of capturing stdout, stderr via:
saveout = sys.stdout
sys.stdout = file_obj

Hi,
I have been trying to set up an automated restore process from prod to
backup server. First, I schedule the full database backup nightly,
transfer the backup file and restore it to the database on the backup
server. Meanwhile, I leave the database ready to accept transaction
log from the transaction log backup at noon daily.
And I had used different restore options to test out the transaction
that was being applied. And I couldn't...

I am trying to redirect to the same page after a post-back is fired to ensure
that the post-back never makes it into history (avoids the post-back/refresh
problem). While doing this, I wish to maintain the view state of the page
(page contains dynamic controls as well). Has anybody done this before? I
assume that I need to store the viewstate info in session (as the 64-bit
encoded string or as the statebag? using sql server session...

Hi there,
I'm doing some TELNET and FTP sessions with my scripts. I need to
redirect all the output (and not just what I print) to an output file,
but still be able to see the session in process on the console.
The Console screen is of less importance, so I could give it up, but
what I'm looking for is a way to see all the interaction with the
remote seesions on a file, that all the console data was redirected to
it from within the...

DB2 9.1.3 on Windows.
If I take a backup from a system where all DB2 data is on drive D: and
try to restore or "create from backup", onto drive E: of another system,
I find:
- System managed tablespaces can be redirected ok
- Database managed tablespaces cannot be redirected, but insist on using
drive D:. If drive D: doesn't exist, or is a CD, the restore fails.
Is this to be expected?

Hi,
I'm using the following command to redirect restore from source
database AAA into target database BBB:
db2 restore db AAA from /DBBACKUP taken at 20080512100655 redirect
into BBB without rolling forward
Why does it always restore into AAA instead of BBB? What's wrong with
my command?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
