Main thing i should be able to login from 1 machien to other machine

db2 catalog tcpip4 node db2tcp2 remote 192.0.32.67 server db2inst1
with "Look up IPv4 address from 192.0.32.67"
The client is included with the server code. You need to first catalog the
remote tcpip node, and then catalog the remote database.

In your catalog node statement, db2inst1 should be the port number of the
instance, not the instance name (unless you have the port defined in
/etc/services with a service name of db2inst1). The default port is 50000,
so you might want to try that. Also, it should be tcpip, not tcpip4.

db2 catalog tcpip node db2tcp2 remote 192.0.32.67 server 50000

Then catalog the database.

db2 catalog db sample as sample2 at node db2tcp2 authentication server

then

db2 connect to sample2

In the above example db2tcp2 can be anything you want so long it is
consistent between the 2 catalog statements and unique on that client.
Sample2 can be anything so long it is unique on that client (as a local db
or remote database alias). I used sample2 since you may already have a
sample database locally defined on your "client" db server.

I have used Enterprise Manager many times to connect to local and remote servers...

I joined a company recently and they have a java program which hangs (does nothing) after a while. This is no way consistent. It could succeed quite a few times and can fail a few other times. There is no consistency when it fails. Could anyone here shed some light on how to debug/resolve the issue. I guess IBM looked at the issue and were not able to pinpoint where the issue is. When the program hangs and when force the DB2...

I have a .net client/server application using remoting, and I cannot get the custom exception class to pass from the server to the client. The custom exception is derived from ApplicationException and is defined in an assembly common to the client and server components. The custom class merely defines three (3) constructors -- the null constructor; one with a string parameter; and one with a string and innner exception parameter -- that...

After much hair-pulling, I've finally found the answer to a problem that many are fighting with, difficulty connecting from Sql 2005 Server Management or VS2005 to a remote Sql Server running Sql 2000. In my case the server I couldn't reach was across a vpn connection, behind ISA server 2000, (which had port 1433 open). The answer was in this post:...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
