The following code works fine when previewing a Crystal report using ASP, EXCEPT when it gets to a report using a SubReport and its associated parameters. The whole report just comes up blank with this error message: "The Error Message was: Error detected by database DLL.from: Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer". What am I doing wrong in the SubReport section below and how do I properly pass in sproc params to the subreport? Thanks. ...

I've been developing a stored procedure that uses a user defined function in the query portion of the procedure. However, since the end product needs to allow for dynamic table names, the UDF will not work. I've been trying to get this to work with converting the UDF to a procedure, but I'm having no luck. Here is the background on what I'm trying to accomplish. I need to perform a sub-identity on a table, I have the normal identity set,...

Stored procedures are faster and more efficient than in-line SQL statements. In this article we will look at two SQL Server stored procedures; one using an input parameter and one not, and see how to call them from an ASP.Net page Every modern database system has a stored procedure language. SQL Server is no different and has a relatively sophisticated and easy to use system. This article will not attempt to go into depth in explaining...

Hello, I'm trying to accomplish 3 things with one stored procedure. I'm trying to search for a record in table X, use the outcome of that search to insert another record in table Y and then exec another stored procedure and use the outcome of that stored procedure to update the record in table Y. I have this stored procedure (stA) CREATE PROCEDURE procstA (@SSNum varchar(9) = NULL) AS

I do a lot of file processing and I usually run a little script I copy and paste to read directory information to see if a new file it there and then process the file if it is. So, I decided to wise up and make a stored procedure to automate a lot of that. The pivotal step in this is that i run a command that looks like: CREATE TABLE #DIR (FileName varchar(100)) DECLARE @Cmd varchar(1050)

On a SQL Server 2000 db I would like to setup a stored procedure that accesses couple tables and runs the extended stored procedure xp..cmdshell. The goal is to grant users with limited privileges the right to run the stored procedure but not the rights to directly access either the referenced tables or the extended stored procedure. TIA!

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
