Hello. I recently built an ASP.NET "financial" application. I got to the point where I have a HTML template (a contract) which needs to be filled with various data from the database. I put a "generate contract" button on my ASPX page, but I totally lack ideas of how to put the data in the correct places in the html file. I was recommended (actually "do like this" from my boss) to enclose the variable name like this {variable_name} in the...

I have an ASP.NET 2.0 page with two DropDownLists. I am using declarative data binding wherever possible and trying to minimize the use of code. The list of values in DropDownList DDL2 should be (filtered) dependent upon the selection in DDL1. I think this inevitably needs some code, but I'd be happy to be told otherwise! I have some code to handle OnSelectedIndexChanged for DDL1 that sets the FilterExpression associated with the...

What I am trying to do is essentially 'flip' the bits, when the user clicks in the checkbox. For example, if the CheckBox appears checked, and the user un-checks it, I want the underlying data field to change from a "1" to a "0" (and vica versa). I have the bindings worked out, I just can't figure out how to do the update. Here is my source:

I have a data table that lists a series of items in my database. In my user form, I want the user to be able to filter by a number of criteria (e.g. location, contract, date modified, etc). Other than modified date, all my filters are selected via combo boxes. I would like to have the combo boxes update so that if there are no items available in the currently filtered list for a given selection, that selection will not appear in the...

I'm looking for a data modeler that can look at an existing database schema and generate an ERD. A PDF of it would be nice. I'm using OS X, but a Linux or Windows tool would be acceptable too. I don't need any other features than that right now. Just want to generate something that new developers can look at to more easily become familiar with the schema. Thanks, -M@

Hi, Sort of new with the whole treeview control and I was wondering is there a way to build a treeview menu using my SQL data I pull from a database instead of having to hard code it into the webpage. Pasted below is my current code but what I would like to do is instead make a table in SQL that data can be added or modified to and have it generate the menu according to the data instead. Thanks for the help, Mike <mytree:treeview...

Goal: I am trying to using Import and Export Wizard in SSIS to grab data from mainframe and put in a sql database. I am stuck at the beginning point: how to connect to the mainframe? I picked the mainframe as my data source. Then on the Data Link Property window under connection, there is Data Source and Location. I assume Data Source is the ip address of my mainframe, and location is the database I am trying to link to. Correct me if I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
