DB2 Exception thrown after processing 600 odd rows

1 New Member
Hi,

I have had a problem before, I am not sure about the exact exception that is thrown.. but I am sure that there is an exception thrown after processing 600 and odd rows in a DB2 JDBC application.

OK.. the scenario is.. In a standalone java application i connected to a locally cataloged database using a DB2 driver. I run a query that returns back a result set. I process the data and close the resultset and statements. This is in a loop and goes on for 600 and odd times and bham.. there is a DB2 Exception that is thrown.

The thing to remember is, I have used a single connection for the entire time and executed a query 600 odd times, each query returning back a result set. All prepared statements and result sets are closed after using it each time.

I have tried searching on the net for a similar problem but without that exception trace i think it will be difficult.

Please tell me if there is a site that tells us more of this problem. And why it happens if at all it does... and if u know the exception that is thrown it will be helpful as well..

Thanks,
Sethu

Hi! I'm trying to make friends with exceptions. I think I'm doing well, there is one thing that bothers me, however. If an object is declared within a try block, it gets destroyed on exception, because then we're into the catch block and out of the try block, right? How can I sense in the destructor that we're in the middle of processing...

Say I've created a piece of code that involves both sql, io and some number conversions. Being a responsible developer I have tried to catch all of the exceptions - but how can I be sure? Is there a way to list exactly which exceptions that are not handlet? (design time) I could of cause ... use catch (Exception e) {...} as the final...

I am wondering if there are some best practices for determining a strategy for using try/catch blocks within an application. My current thoughts are: 1. The code the initiates any high-level user tasks should always be included in a try/catch block that actually handles any exceptions that occur (log the exception, display a message box,...

We have an ASP.NET 2.0 (C#) application that is divided into multiple layers. The multiple layers come from having a web project and 2 different class library projects in the same solution. I'm having difficulties figuring out the best way to handle (catch) exceptions in the different layers and then propagating those errors back up...

I am a little bit confused by all possibilities for exceptions handling in Python (probably because I am not skilled enough??) In the following example each row can...

I have all of my data operations in a separate library, so I'm looking for what might be termed "best practices" on a return type from those classes. For example, let's say I send an update from the UI layer to a method in a library class that calls the stored procedure. Best to return a boolean indicating success/failure, return a string with...

This is a long one, so I'll summarize: 1. What are your opinions on raising an exception within the constructor of a (custom) exception? 2. How do -you- validate arguments in your own exception constructors? I've noticed that, f.ex., ArgumentException accepts null arguments without raising ArgumentNullException. Obviously, if nothing is...

I've tried placing try/catch blocks in several...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
