pureXML support in DPF

In Information Center it says;
"Restrictio ns on database partitions
- The use of any features of the native XML data store will prevent
future use of the database partitioning feature available with DB2
Enterprise Server Edition.
- An XML column or XML schema repository (XSR) object cannot be
defined in a table of a database with more than one database partition
defined.
- If a database is defined with a single database partition and
includes XML columns or XSR objects, then a new database partition
cannot be added."

It looks like you can create XML datatype in DPF but cannot use any of
DPF advantages...

Doesn't this mean pureXML datatype is NOT supported on DPF?

What exactly is "prevent future use of the database partitioning
feature" mean?

Thanks in advance.

Correct
What exactly is "prevent future use of the database partitioning

It means you can't cheat and create n XML column and later add a second
database partition.

Teh demand for XML in the warehouse is surprisingly high, so it's
reasonable to assume that this limitation won't last forever.

Cheers

Hi Sam;
It is true that an XML-enabled database cannot use DPF. You will
actually get a warning during the install process that tells you that
selecting the XML configuration will "prevent future use of the
database partitioning feature" - i.e. DPF.

I did some search on the google and it seems I have to build in multibyte support for php and mysql. I don't normally do PHP development work on Windows but I need to port an image creation tool to Windows. So I have loaded the php_gd2.dll module for image creation support but it doesn't include the t1lib functions and the code relies on the imagepsbbox(), imagepstext() and imagepsloadfont() functions. The result from gd_info() is: array(11) { => string(27) "bundled (2.0.28 compatible)"

Hi, I almost read all of the "DB2 vs Oracle" thread... The summary I got from that was all databases essentially do the same things, the decision of which one you use primarily depends on available skillsets, software vendor support, and customer/tech support. I will be facing a decision on migrating our SAP Informix database to either Oracle, DB2UDB, or Sqlserver. I don't think we are going to SqlServer. I have some Oracle...

Does PureXML use bufferpools for all the data stored? I am assuming that PureXML is faster than XML Extender at shredding data, but is not faster than relational (without LOB's) in cases where there are no XML documents (other than people trying to force a schema into an XML document).

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
