DID I FORGET TO INSTALL SOMETHING? libApiDS.so: cannot open shared object file

root@Server:/opt/ibm/db2/V9.1/bin# ./db2adutl
../db2adutl: error while loading shared libraries: libApiDS.so: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory
I just installed db2 9.1 express-c for linux to give it a try since I
have been using the windows version..

it seems to be missing some libs.. I searched google for the .so file
and havnt' found much... since I'm not that much of a linux expert.
maybe someone can tell me what these libs are and why they are not in
the db2 distribution?

any help appriciated

Do you have a TSM client installed and configured properly on your
system? Also, you should be running this command as a DB2 instance
owner, not root. (This will ensure that your environment has been
set up properly, too).

I'm on a Red Hat 9 system, which has Python 2.2.2 installed, and I installed 2.3 separately into /home/rob/Python-2.3/ (creating the symbolic link "py23" to point to my 2.3 installation). Now I'm trying to work out the kinks in the process. Unable to run Idle using 2.3 the way I've got things set up, I created a super simple Tkinter test program that just pops up a Label widget. I pasted below an example of how the RH-provided 2.2 runs...

Hi all, I'm desperately trying to get a simple mysql connection working in php 4.3.9 and I think I have a doozy for you guys. First of all, I didn't set up ANY of this system, I'm just working with it. So, on Redhat, we have two versions of PHP - Apache uses 4.3.9, there's also a 4.4.2 that is default from command-line. 4.3.9 was installed by RPM, 4.4.2 was built from source. I can get mysql.so loaded and working fine in 4.4.2, but...

One of my friends, Scott, is a consultant who doesn't currently have newsgroup access so I am asking these questions for him. I'll be telling him how to monitor the answers via Google Newsgroup searches. Scott has heard a lot of hype about DB2 and Oracle and is trying to understand the pros and cons of each product. I'm quite familiar with DB2 but have never used Oracle so I can't make any meaningful comparisons for him. He does not have...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
