Install Admin Client and FixPak

Sue
Hi, I have the following version of DB2 installed on a server:
FP9a_WR21350_WS E.exe

I have 2 client computers with the DB2 Admin version
FP9a_WR21350_AD MCL.exe

I need to install the DB2 client on a third computer. Can I simply
install the fixpak by itself or do I have to first install the admin
client separately then install the fixpak on top of it? I think the
version number I have is DB2 V8.1.5.449.

Thank you very much for helping.

On Windows OS, you can just install the fixpack level of the DB2 software
that you want (client or server). The Windows DB2 fixpacks are
self-contained and don't need any previous software installed.

If you had Linux or UNIX versions, you would have to install the base code
first (8.1 or 8.2), and then fixpack you want.

Help! We have DB2 V7.2 (fixpak 12) installed on Windows2003 Server, and the latest V7.2 client installed on another system. The DB2CODEPAGE on all systems is set to 1208, and the database was created with code set UTF-8 / codepage 1208. (Note: Running our test application described below on the database host as opposed to a separate client system produced the same results as described below). When we perform an INSERT statement...

Can someone remind me how to re-install the Development Center? I was playing with the Environment Settings a bit the other day and, ever since, it hasn't worked right. I can create a new Project but that's all I can do; the File and Edit menus are grayed out and I can't seem to find anything that will re-enable them. I upgraded from DB2 (LUW) Version 7.2 to Version 8.2 (FP7) on Friday and applied Fixpack 8 on Saturday. I'm running...

DB2 LUW 8.2 FP14 Red Hat AS 2.1 I am using a response file w/ db2setup to install DB2. I then want to install the latest fixpak in the same automated way. Is there any way to use a response file w/ fixpak installation? Or can I otherwise do an automated (non-interactive) fixpak install?

On a linux Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 5) box, I've installed DB2 V9 Client at the fixpak3 level. The install was successfull but 2 additional log files were produced with messages that make me wonder if there is a problem. Or are these informational messages and ones that are expected? I also tried installing with fixpak 3a with the same results. Same results on a different linux box. The contents are copied...

Hi, I've been trying for 2 hours to install in silent mode a DB2 9 runtime client. Why didn't you make this process as simple as for the CLIENT install ? It is not the same setup command, you can download a setup from the support site, but unfortunately, the setup does not allow you to create a response file. Neither the db2rspgn utility, after the graphical setup has been done. Very disapointing ... maybe can someone highlight the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
