db2pfchr taking lot of memory

I am running a siebel database on Db2 V8.2 32 bit with FP10a. The
system went to production a week back. After of couple of days we saw
high memory usage and the system ran out of paging space and crashed.
We had to restart the AIX and we can see the memory slowly climbing up.
On investigation, via svmon, we see db2pfchr taking over a 1 GB of
memory and its slowly increasing.
Why is db2pfchr taking lot of memory ? is this normal ?
There is 3 num_ioservers defined

TIA

Roger

You might want to open up a PMR and check with support to see if there
are any APARs that were fixed since fp10 relating to memory and db2pfchr.

Hi, I've a module report.py having a set of funtions to open/close/write data to a log file. I invoke these functions from another module script.py. Whenever I'm changing something in report.py, I'm running the file (however, it has not effect). After that I'm running script.py again. However, the output is not taking effect.

the aspnet_wp.exe process in taking up lots of memory. Right now just the one main page loads and imediately goes to the top of the memory usage list with around 32MB of memory usage. The page only contains 1 datagrid that IS using default paging and sorting capabilities. I am using 2 viewstate variables to keep track of field and direction info for sorting so that the columns sort asc then desc on second click etc... As far as the data for...

Hi DB2 8.1 FP 7a on AIX 5.2.0. Can anyone tell me how best to reduce high CPU (and subsequent high IO) associated with db2pfchr processes? NUMIO_SERVERS is set to the default 3. A grep on these prefetchers returns: 2867326 1405102 3 Feb 24 - 1460:34 db2pfchr 0 3932384 1405102 0 Feb 24 - 42:48 db2pfchr 0

I have a machine that I've moved some web services to and now w3wp.exe just keeps taking more and more memory (I don't think it did it on the old machine.) So apparently I have a memory leak somewhere. Any way to track this down? TIA - Jeff.

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.3054.00 (X64) (Build 3790: Service Pack 2) Last Friday we had a situation where the DNS system inside our Active Directory server went weird. I know this isn't a DNS or AD NG, but please bear with me... The DNS server didn't really stop working - it was just taking a looooooonnnggggg time to service requests. During this, the SQL server (SQLS) engine had lots of (mostly jdbc) connections to web

Hi there, I'm coming to you nice people as a desperate resort with time working against me, anyway: I have implemented an algorithm that basically generates a very large tree of nodes, where each node just contains 4 pointers to other nodes. Now this generation of a tree occurs many times in the programs operation, and with the creation of new Node objects I gradually run out of memory. Obviously I need to deallocate them between each...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
