DB2 deadlock while accessing plan?

Folks,

I have been getting SQLCODE -911 while reading data from a table.
When I look at the db2diag.log file I see following:

2006-10-10-14.33.13.384726-240 I127058C470 LEVEL: Warning
PID : 233904 TID : 1 PROC : db2agent (CFG) 0
INSTANCE: db2prod NODE : 000 DB : CFG
APPHDL : 0-1415 APPID: *LOCAL.db2prod. 061010183323
FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, access plan manager, sqlra_find_pkg, probe:99
RETCODE : ZRC=0x80100002=-2146435070=SQLP _LDED "Dead lock detected"
DIA8002C A deadlock has occurred, recovering transaction "".
Under what circumstance would DB2 run into deadlock situation while accessing
a plan?

I checked the timestamp of the compiled code and package, they were both
changed last week (Oct 4). I am running DB2 UDB 8.2 on AIX 5.3.

No other application was accessing this table when I got deadlock. My
application is written in C and uses static SQL, the package was bound with
ISOLATION UR.

We have one user who enters a transaction and then does a single row update (updates all columns but only one is changing - this is due to the way our sql is generated in the application), at this point another user enter a transaction and tries to update the same row (he understandably has to sit and wait while he is blocked by the original user). The original user then updates the same row again – at this point the second user is chosen...

Here's a really weird one for any SQL Server gurus out there... We have observed (SQL Server 2000) scenarios where a stored procedure which (a) begins a transaction (b) inserts some rows into a table (c) re-queries another table using a subquery which references the inserted table (correlated or not)

Hello all, we are running a delphi application with DB2 V8.01 which is causing deadlocks when rows are being inserted into a table. Attaching the Event Monitor Log (DEADLOCKS WITH DETAILS) here. From the log it looks like the problem happens when 2 threads insert 1 record each in the same table and then try to aquire a NS (Next Key Share) lock on the record inserterd by the other thread. Thanks Rohit

Hi- We ran into some very strange deadlocks this AM, and I was hoping to get some insight. We were running a REORGCHK on a database, and started getting deadlocks. What is curious is that according to the deadlock event monitor, the deadlock was between the REORGCHK process and another client attempting a SQL execution, and the Prepare was requesting an Exclusive lock. Is that normal? Maybe I'm reading the monitor output...

I sometimes get the following error from an update statement in a stored procedure: Transaction (Process ID 62) was deadlocked on thread | communication buffer resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction. The isolation level is READ UNCOMMITTED and there are no explicit transactions in the stored procedure. The update statement is as follows:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
