DB2 license for Range Partitioning with DB2 V9 ESE

If I have a license for DB2 V9 ESE for the appropriate number of CPU's
on my server, do I need a separate additional license for Range
Partitioning (like I need for DPF).

When I talked to IBM sometime back, I was told this feature requires
additional license.
It seems, every tiny feature from IBM requires license.

Thanks!

Range Partitioning does *not* require an additional licence.

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data...tml#enterprise
lists the features that require additional licences on top of ESE.

I need to write an algorithm that sheds the outliers in a large data set, for example, I might want to ignore the smallest 2% of values and find the next smallest. Boost has a nth_element algorithm, however, it partially sorts the data. I have a requirement that the data remain in the orginal order. Of course I could make a copy of the vector or array and then apply nth_element, but this would be expensive in memory and would require...

I'm sure this is a concept that's been explored here. I have a table (fairly simple, just two columns, one of which is a 32-digit checksum) with several million rows (currently, about 7 million). About a million times a day we do select * from my_table where md5 = ? to verify presence or absence of the row, and base further processing on that information.

Hi, I need to create a partition table but the column on which I need to create a partition may not have any logical ranges. So while creating or defining partition function I can not use any range. like CREATE PARTITION FUNCTION my_part_func (NUMERIC(7)) AS RANGE LEFT FOR VALUES (1,100,1000);

DB2 V8.2 (not Viper yet and no range partitioning!!) I have created a table T1 (col1, col2) with col1 as the primary key. When I try to create a partitioning key on col2, it gives me error that it should have all primary keys included. So, I created table T1 again with col2 as the partitioning key. Now, I do not have col1 as the primary key. When I try to create col1 as the primary key, I get the following error: 1 The primary key, each...

Hi, Happy New Year. I am trying to insert a query to a partitioned view but the error is : Server: Msg 4436, Level 16, State 12, Line 1 UNION ALL view 'T' is not updatable because a partitioning column was not found. Here is all my query statements : create table t1 (ID int primary key, Code int check(code between 1 and 15 ))

Hi hi everyone. We have upgraded our DB2 LUW 8.2.1 which was directly installed from our DB2 CD's to DB2 LUW 8.2.6 (FP13). (system: HP DL385 (AMD64), single socket, dual core. 8GB memory. SLES 10. NetApp FAS250 storage array). This went quite well, but it rendered our permanent (legal) DB2 license invalid, and I can see of no way to get our environment up and running with FP13 installed.

According to the original whitepaper on UDB range partitioning (http:// www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/db2/library/techarticle/0202zuzarte/ 0202zuzarte.pdf), you can use a range as a criteria, either in the UNION ALL view or in constraints. One restriction it lists, though, is that the optimizer can't use a constraint that references a range versus a discrete value for SQL containing host variables or parameter markers. That was for V7 and...

I have 2 questions regarding DB2 9's Range Partitioning. 1. Do the Partition fields have to reside on the table being Partitioned? We have a Fact table we would like to Partition and the Week identifier resides on the table. This identifier's parent Dimension table has a month value. In order to Partition the Fact table by month, somehow the Dimension table would need to be referenced. 2. The Fact table mentioned in the above...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
