Company thought DB2 will be better than Oracle.
The bottom line is when you do select, the system crash.
I think it may take 4-5 years for DB2 to reach Oracle standard.

Hi everybody:
I need some help to load in the as/400, a file with fields that have
french characters . I have created a file with language = FRC and
ccsid = 500 and also I have tried with ccsid = 297 but when I load the
file , the french characters does not appear correctly.
Please let me know what is missing? The file that I'm loading comes in
a tape and I'm making a copy from tape to the file created with the
above specifications.

HELP - Need to connect to DB2 database on AIX from NT server. Also
AS/400 from NT Server
-- I am experienced in ORACLE and a novice at DB2. What tools would
be the equivalent of Net*8 or SQLNET in ORACLE that would allow me to
connect to a database on a remote box (either AIX or AS/400)? I have
read that DB2 Connect appears to be the ticket for the Db2 server if

test some SQL to a DB2? In particular to an AS/400. I am learning and find
that the commands, fuctions etc are different than going to an Access DB on
my home PC.
Another thing I am looking for is there a way to simulate on my PC a DB2 so
I can accomplish the same thing in testing SQL. Thanks

I need to write a query that returns the names of all queries in a
library that start with the letters SC. I have not a clue how to even
start something like this. If possible, the boss would like this done
is QRY/400.
Also, if anyone knows how to build a time machine so that I can have
this done by when the boss called 15 minutes ago wanting to have it
done by now, that would be great.

Hi, All,
We have a database on db2 udb aix.
The database has federated server to db2 mainframe.
Now We have already catalog database of db2/400 on the db2 UDB aix
server.
I tried to create new federation server for db2as/400.
It seam has problem.
1. can the db2 mainframe and db/400 have the same wrapper?
Our existing db2 mainframe uses the wrapper with library libdb2drda.a
This wrapper is used by db2 mainframe

In DB2/400, if I run this statement: delete from ordvcrec a where not
exists(select * from i$paint b where a.part#=b.i$part)
Where ORDVCREC is a join logical of physical files ORDVALID and
ORDMASCREC, will the rows being deleted be the "logical" rows from
ORDVCREC only, or could physical rows (records) be wiped out in
ORDVALID or ORDMASCREC?
I am assuming that only logical rows will be deleted from ORDVCREC,
but I am afraid to try...

My Windows DB2 Server 9.x is connected, via federation, to a remote AS/
400 system:
I created several nicknames to remote tables and I can query them.
Problem is, during the night, my remote AS/400 is rebooted and DB2
Server cannot connect back to it.
Is there any DB2 parameter I must set to reconnect automatically to
