Intelligent miner for data - What's behind ??

Hi! I've been using Intelligent Miner for Data (IMD) since 1 week and I
was able to generate some results. However, I would like to know more
about the algorithms that are used by IBM (ie in the
Association/Clustering/Classification mining methods)

I was able to read a little bit about it in the manual ("Using the
IMD") but they really give a short description of the way the method
works. Is there any link or articles that I could find somewhere on the
internet ?

I really need to understand the mechanisms of that black box to
interprete my results !

Thank you in advance

Amélie

Your best chance is to grab a book about data mining in general, for example
"Data Mining - Concepts and Techniques" by Han & Kamber.

The thing is that you won't get all the details of the algorithms in IM.
Those algorithms are adapted and improved over time. So any "official"
description could become an obstacle for changes in case someone relies on
some very specific behavior.

The MetaMind ( http://metamind.us ) is a new kind of search engine which lets you enter links directly. You can easily extract links from files on your computer or web pages on the net. You can then select the ones you want to add by word or url. Every link in the MetaMind database has an owner identified with it. Each link can also have category and project identifiers. When you send e-mail from the MetaMind it can easily be...

Interested in more .NET stuff visit www.dedicatedsolutions.co.uk The DataList is not as powerful as the DataGrid. It requires more work from you since it has no default data presentation format. However, the DataGrid begins to get very cumbersome as the number of columns of data you present increases. Anything more than half a dozen columns or so and you probably induce horizontal scrolling - a real no-no for me. If you put such a...

Hi, I have a newsletter subscribe page. A user enters email address and clicks Subscribe button. That email address is added to database. Say this is a career newsletter. Is it possible to create an intelligent system that will work such a way that every time a new job is added on the website, a newsletter is sent to all the email address that are currently in the database. I guess this is possible if one has a CMS (Content Management...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
