Error while connecting to a database

Hi, I get the following error when trying to connect to a database:
(I have cataloged the node and database and they show up in list node
directory and list db directory):
SQL30081N A communication error has been detected. Communication
protocol
being used: "TCP/IP". Communication API being used: "SOCKETS". Location
where the error was detected: "10.88.6.49 ". Communication function
detecting
the error: "recv". Protocol specific error code(s): "*", "*", "0".
SQLSTATE=08001

Any replies are appreciated.

Cheers,
San.

It could be anything, from network adapter failure, through firewall
(blocking) to bad port number or IP name in the configuration.

Hi all, I would like to ask for some help regarding separating the asp.net webserver and the sql server. I have created an asp.net application for a certain company. Initially, we installed both the iis and sql server in a single machine. Not too long ago, the machine had some hardware problems, and management has decided to purchase new servers, for both asp.net and sql server.

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) I get this the frist time I open an ASP.NEt 2.0 site on my development machine now. It started happening when I tried to use the...

I now get the following error message after copying an asp.net application to the deployment web server. I don't have SQLExpress or any version of SQL 2005 installed. I found the "LocalSQLServer" connection string in the machine.config, changed that to look at a SQL 2000 database, but the error still comes up. An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be...

Hi there, I am currently developing an ASP.NET program that connects to a SQL Server 2000 database. I also have SQL Server 2005 Express installed on the same local machine. Prior to installing SQL Server 2005, my apps were working and is connecting flawlessly to a database on the SQL Server 2000. Now, whenever I connect to the same database with the 2005 version installed, I keep on getting this error:

I have written it in ASP.net v2, and have put it on IIS v6 on windows server 2003. I think it may be something to do with connection string to the database,

I downloaded the personal website starter kit and when I run it I get the error shown below. I found a way of using Launch Surface Area Configuration that is supposed to fix the remote setting but I tried it and still get the error. I do not have SQL Server 2005 installed (thought I did once). I do have SQL Server 2008 installed. I don't see anywhere in the code where SQL Server 2005 is referenced.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
