I am kind of in a bit of a jam (okay a big jam) and i was hoping that
someone here could give me a quick hand. I had a few pages of time
calculations to do. So, i just started in on them typing them in my
time calculator and writing them in by hand. Now i realize, that i
really need a script to do this because:
1. It turns out there are hundreds of pages of this stuff.
2. I have to do something similar in again soon.

I would like to determine the "actual" elapsed time of an operation
which could take place during a time change, in a platform-independent
manner (at least across Linux/Windows machines).
Using time.time() doesn't appear to be suitable, since time might jump
forwards or backwards at the user's whim, if the system clock is reset,
or when a daylight savings time change occurs.
Using time.clock() doesn't appear to be suitable on Linux,...

I'm creating a service and am using a timer in it. When the service starts
I enable the timer, and then in the timer elasped event, I'm disabling it
(this.srvcTimer.Enabled = false) so the timer event doesn't fire while I'm
already in it. At the end of the timer elapsed event I re-enable it.
However, while running in the debugger, the event never fires. If I comment
out the line disabling the timer in the elapsed event, the event fires. ...

postgresql 7.3.4 on Debian or the redhat packaged 7.3.4-8 on RHEL AS3 -
same issue, so I somewhat cut out RH is playing things on me.
Tested on two different PCs, too (say, one debian, one RHEL).
While running
UPDATE banner SET counterhalf=counterhalf+1 WHERE BannerID=50
several thousand times, the return times degrade (somewhat linear).
The relation banner has currently *seven* rows and thus it doesnt matter

I was testing this with .NET Framework 2.0.
Exceptions in the Elapsed event handler of a System.Timers.Timer are
ignored, they are not handled by the runtime and not reported (when
running outside of VS.NET) either. Ther Timer continues as if nothing
happened.
Is this the desired behaviour, because this would have very negative
impact on analysis of unexpected errors?
Am i missing any design directives concerining the exception handling...

I am seeking help for calculating the elapsed time on an activity.
When the user clicks "pause" button on a form, the timer should also
pause. When the user clicks "continue", the timer should continue from
where the user paused.
For example, if the user paused after 10 seconds of progress in the

I've a requirement to find the elapsed time between two function

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
