Stored Procedure - Aliases problem

Currently, we are using the next tool in order to execute SQL commands
in DB2 databases:

About DB2 Administration Tools Environment
--------------------------------------------------------------------
DB2 administration tools level:
Product identifier SQL08020
Level identifier 03010106
Level DB2 v8.1.7.445
Build level s040812
PTF WR21342
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Java development kit (JDK):
Level IBM Corporation 1.4.1
--------------------------------------------------------------------

We used the following Stored Procedure:

CREATE PROCEDURE SPU_TEST()
LANGUAGE SQL
DYNAMIC RESULT SETS 1
NOT DETERMINISTIC
CALLED ON NULL INPUT
MODIFIES SQL DATA
BEGIN
DECLARE Temp_Cursor CURSOR WITH RETURN FOR
SELECT
PLANT_CODE AS CODE,
NAME AS PLANT_NAME
FROM
PLANT;

OPEN Temp_Cursor;
END
¡
CALL SPU_TEST()
¡

In the following environment, the above stored procedure works without
problems.

Target Type = DB2 UDB for Linux, UNIX and Windows Database
Database Server = DB2/NT 8.2.0

CODE PLANT_NAME
01 plant1
02 plant2
.... ...
However, when we tested the same stored procedure in the following
environment, the aliases names for the columns are not showed.

Target Type = DB2 UDB for z/OS Subsystem
Database server = OS/400 5.3.0

PLANT_CODE NAME
01 plant1
02 plant2
.... ...
What's the problem?

Hi , I am looking for meta-information about the return recordset of a stored-procedure. The procedure returns a resultset that contains columns of more tables joined together. In all tables, I use, there is a Record-Creation-Timestamp-Attribute. When joining two or more tables these attribute-names appear in ther resultset but i found no way to distinguish them. I there a way to retrieve meta-information about the result-recordset of

I have an SP that is big, huge, 700-800 lines. I am not an expert but I need to figure out every possible way that I can improve the performance speed of this SP. In the next couple of weeks I will work on preparing SQL statements that will create the tables, insert sample record and run the SP. I would hope people will look at my SP and give me any hints on how I can better write the SP.

I have the following stored procedure below and I was wondering if I will be able to bind the restuls to a datagrid for the first select statement and display the results of the count in a label for the count. I wasn't sure if i should have written two stored procedures to do this or if I'll be able to do it the way it stands. I appreciate any help anyone is able to give me. Was wondering if I needed to return a value as an output...

I've spent the last couple of hours trying to figure out how to debug a Java stored procedure and am just going in circles. The last straw came when I got "Cannot open input stream for default" when I launched the IBM Distributed Debugger via D:\IBMDebug>idebug.exe -qdaemon -quiport=8000,8001 First, a bit of background. I am running DB2 V7.2 with Fixpack 9 applied on Windows XP Professional (all critical service applied). I've written...

hi all, Recently I wrote some stored procedures using java jdbc code (admittedly my first stab) and then tried to implement the same within java packages (for code reuse). I encountered problems doing this. I wanted to implemented a generic "Helper" class like this: /** * Helper

Hello to All, I'm trying to retrieve records from AS/400 in an VBA application. So, I've made an RPG program, then a stored procedure wchich calls that RPG program, and finally some VBA code to call the stored procedure and retrieve data from AS/400. The problem is, that when I finally run my VB code, it just hangs. But when I call the same stored procedure from "pure" SQL - it works perfect. (I evaluate Aqua Data Studio 3.7) What I...

I'm using an ObjectDataSource with a stored procedure and am getting the following error when trying to update (ExecuteNonQuery): System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Procedure or Function 'UpdateRegistrant' expects parameter '@EMail', which was not supplied. The field value was null in the database and not changed in the FormView so is null going back into the stored procedure. I'm stumped and would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

I created a stored procedure called MANLIB.MAN535CL based on a CL/COBOL program. I know it works because I can run it successfully. However, I don't really understand where it is on the iSeries. For example, if I use Navigator to browse the "Databases" section, there is one database, s10cd4b. Under that is the "schemas" section which

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
