I have SQL server 2000 which recently crashed. I try to recover it and
found out that the Master database is corrupt. I never backup my
server using inline sql backup nor any third party backup program that
aware to SQL server. But I have full system backup of volume c on tape
(using NTBackup), which includes old version of Master database. My
questions are:
1. How can I recover this file into SQL server?
2. If so, it is not risky to...

So yea... I rm-ed a rlv that our TS_FACT2 tblspace was using. So our
db went to the crapper. The tblspace didn't have any pertinent info,
so I'm ok with dropping the tblspace and starting over.
These are the commands and errors that I have found:
--db2 => restart database sware drop pending tablespace (TS_FACT2)
DB20000I The RESTART DATABASE command completed successfully.
--db2 => list tablespaces

The ETL application loaded around 3000 rows in 14 seconds in a Development
database while it took 2 hours to load in a UAT database.
UAT db is partitioned.
Dev db is not partitioned.
the application looks for existing rows in the table...if they already
exist then it updates otherwise inserts them.
The table is pretty large, around 6.5 million rows.

Hi,
Here's the situation. We weekly take a full prod db backup (db has 5
partitions, catalog plus 4 others) and restore it to our dr machine.
Then we nightly apply delta backup from our prod machine to our dr
machine. The other day someone loaded data with recoverable on. Then
they took a full tablespace backup of the loaded tablespace. The
evening delta backup ran normally. We are trying to figure out what
the steps should be to...

I have been testing the db2 recover command on a DB2 V8.2 Linux
database. The database contains a single partition. I am not
archiving logs but retaining them on disk. the backup image is to
disk as well. I performed the following in order :
1. OFFLINE BACKUP <time#1>
2. Create table S.T (c1 smallint)
3. Insert several rows into S.T - values 1,2,3,4,5
4. ONLINE BACKUP <time#2>
5. Insert several more rows 6,7,8,9

Hi.
I deleted a stored procedure (one I had written) out of the master database. I
thought I had accidentally put it there, then I got to thinking.. what if it
is normally reflected there, and maybe I should not of deleted it.
So.. my question.. is it normal for procedures in other databases to be
reflected also in the master database, and then how can I restore / recover
the master database if necessary.
