Good afternoon,
I'm trying to set up a clustered DB2 v7.1 database on Redhat Linux
7.3. I've followed the instructions (as far as I know) in the
accompanying documentation to set up the database on 2 nodes.
Running db2start on node 0 I get the following message:
11-19-2000 10:12:44 1 0 SQL6048N A communication error
occurred during START or STOP DATABASE MANAGER processing.

Has anyone come across this before and fixed it?
My system (a small development system with DB2 8.1 Enterprise on
RedHat 8.1 Linux) has been working fine for ages.
Suddenly I now get the following error after running code that has
used the Base Client Support (e.g. using unixODBC isql to access a
database)
isql: relocation error: /opt/IBM/db2/V8.1/lib/libcxa.so.1: undefined

Hey hey all...
I'm in the following situation:
I installed SuSE SLES9 on a dual core Opteron 275 (proliant DL385).
2GB Mem, hardware raid.
I performed an install of DB2 for X86_64 8.2 FP 1 (8.1 FP 8)
Install went ok, status log says success on every action taken.
rights are ok, users are ok, etc.

Hello,
I tried to do the catalog local node command to catalog a node from one instance to another. i.e. I ran the command
db2 catalog local node REPORTDB intance reportdb
The command executed successfully however as a result of this I was unable to start either of the instances. db2start takes a long time, then returns with the error:
SQL1042C An unexpected system error occurred.
SQL1032N No start database manager command was...

This occurred in a non-supported UDB environment. I am providing it as
"gotcha" information.
SQL1084C error was received when attempting the first connect to the
(formerly working) SAMPLE database. This occurred on a FC6 system that
was just updated to kernel 2.6.19-1..... with associated updates to
SELinux security.
Problem: db2start performs kernel updates, setting parameters that are
necessary for UDB to function. These updates...

I'm using C++ in a Linix environment to read from TCP and UDP sockets. I now need to start using multi-threading and we're using pthreads (i.e. pthread.h).
When I started including the pthread library I found that '#include <pthread.h>' doesn't function by itself, I needed to do the following to compile it.
icc filename .cpp -lpthread
Fine as far as it goes, but now I need to include another library, since many of the functions I'm...

Hi All,
We have recently migrated our product to intel compiler 8.0 from gcc
2.96 on RHEL 4.
Everything works absolutely fine with gcc.
I have successfully managed to build/link the product(server) on intel
compiler.
But when client(java) tries to connect to the server,
server aborts with below back trace.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
