Suddenly _ZdlPv rellocation error from Base Client Support

Has anyone come across this before and fixed it?

My system (a small development system with DB2 8.1 Enterprise on
RedHat 8.1 Linux) has been working fine for ages.

Suddenly I now get the following error after running code that has
used the Base Client Support (e.g. using unixODBC isql to access a
database)

isql: relocation error: /opt/IBM/db2/V8.1/lib/libcxa.so.1: undefined
symbol: _ZdlPv

The only thing that I can think of that might have anything to do with
it is that I installed the iSeriesAccess rpm for a short while to tale
a look at what it did for ODBCConfig, but I have removed it again.

I have run a rpm -Va and that doesn't indicate any problem.

Anyone any ideas?

I had run ODBCConfig.
It had "damaged" the odbcinst.ini, removing the "DontDLClos e=1" line.
Puttimg that back fixed the problem and some Segment Violations too.

Some people have suggested the desire for code completion and refined edit-time error detection are an indication of incompetence on the part of the programmer who wants such features. Unfortunately these ad hominem rhetorts are frequently introduced into purely technical discussions on the feasibility of supporting such functionality in C++. That usually serves to divert the discussion from the technical subject to a discussion of the...

I have run into a problem generating the class file via the WSDL utility. I have a WSDL file that was generated by XMLSpy and is able to be read by the Java code utility, but I get the following error from the WSDL utility. I recently had to rebuild an instance of SQL Server. When it was restarted, one of the client apps (ASP.NET) could not connect - the user could see the login screen, but it kept throwing exceptions. Turns out that the database had been restored with a different name, so the connection string (stored in web.config) was amended. At that point the system failed to display even the login screen - it failed with the error message shown at...

Hello, I am receiving this error when trying to instantiate a webservice component. I have 2 development machines, both are XP sp2 with VS 2008 installed. On one machine, the code works fine. On the other machine I get the error upon instantiating the service client. I add the reference by choosing Add Service Reference from the project menu, and pointing to the remote wsdl file. I can't seem to find what the difference between the two...

I'm researching what is the best way to create a generic WCF proxy wrapper that has the following requirements: 1. Remove the System.ServiceModel config section requirement for clients. We have our own configuration management that follows our application lifecycle (development/system test/production). Also, most of the proxies we build are for the middle-tier layer. 2. Create a wrapper to follow WCF Client best practices (proxy.close...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
