Hi, All:
I am happy to annouce that we have formally released our latest SocketPro
version 4 at www.udaparts.com, an advanced remoting framework written from
batching/queue, asynchrony and parallel computation.
Key Benefits of SocketPro:
Super performance and scalability
It is a guarantee that SocketPro based client-server applications

I came up with what I think is a good idea for making multithreading
programming easier in any .NET language. I dont know where else to post it,
so I'll try here.
..NET 2.0 adds the capability to write anonymous functions, it would be nice
if there was a "parallel" statement, that could simplify writing threadprocs.
e.g. (theoretical c#)
public void DoSomeParallelStuff() {

A Surprisingly Simple Algorithm for Parallel Pattern Matching

Hi,
actually I have a childform, which runs a self-written script
interpreter (runs aprox. 1 min).
I want to create more child-forms and I want to have the interpreters
run parallel.
Right now only the interpreter of the last created form is running
until it is finished and then the other ones are continuing.
How can I make parallel working child-forms

I'm doing some analysis that is readily broken up into many independent
pieces, on a multicore machine.
I thought it would be best to just queue like 1000 of these pieces in the
ThreadPool, and let that object take care of running them in the background
on the machine's free cycles.
But I need the program to wait for all the queued pieces to finish before it
continues. I tried giving each work item a ManualResetEvent and using...

Has anybody tried to run parallel python applications?
It appears that if your application is computation-bound using 'thread'
or 'threading' modules will not get you any speedup. That is because
python interpreter uses GIL(Global Interpreter Lock) for internal
bookkeeping. The later allows only one python byte-code instruction to
be executed at a time even if you have a multiprocessor computer.
To overcome this limitation, I've created...

If you are firing that many queries you better be using bind variables and
parsing the query once and rebinding, and executing many times and NOT
closing the cursor. Doing that will help you immensely lower CPU usage.
You are sending the queries sychronsly and the type of queries you are
sending are not suited for doing parallel queries on (" single row from the
a table and uses the primary key in its WHERE predicate"). Parallel queries...

Hello all,
I have got the pseudo-code below that I would like to convert to c
language. The algorithm calculates Pi value. I am somewhat familiar
with C language, but I am just starting to learn parallel programming.
In this specific example, the idea seems to be simple: one must
subdivide the main loop into pieces that can be executed by
independent "tasks" (computers??).
Then, each "worker task" executes a part of the loop a...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
