How to connect the DB with user created manually?

Hi All,

I have a server DB2 UDB V8 on sun box. and accessing the server using
DB2 UDB client 7 from win2k system. Till now i used to login using
db2inst1 user which a default user created by DB2. So, I created 2 new
users using control centre and given all the authorities to those
users. But, while creating users, it did not ask for password!!! how
can i login/connect to the database with these users? Is there
anything which i have to do after creating and giving the permisson to
users?

Thanks in advance,
Praveen

DB2 doesn't have users (or passwords) - your operating system has them, DB2
uses the operating system's facilities. Create the users using the relevant
operating system ("sun box" for server authentication, Windows (domain) for
client authentication) .

I've created library with some "user controls" and they all showed up in the toolbox, so it is easy to drag them to a form in Forms Designer. Now we want to use the controls in our main project which is located on another computer. The problem is they don't show up in the toolbox. What's wrong ? -- Adam

A tale of woe, and a question . . . Last week my boss said to me "we've installed DB2 Connect on this Solaris box. Make it work." Now, I've barely seen DB2 Connect on Windows, having fumbled thru one install and config, with a lot of handholding from IBM Support. I'm comfortable in unix but have never dealt with DB2 Connect there. (my main job is as an Oracle DBA, and most of my db's are on Solaris or AIX) I've found the install...

Hello, I just want my ADP not to connect on startup. Normally when opening the xx.adp-file Access tries to connect automatically. Is there any option, trick, workaround? I found a source to reconnect or change the connection via vba code, now I want to prohibit Access to start a connection on startup as this takes too much time. Thanks in advance!

Dear friends, I'm a Web Services newbie and I have created a simple Web Service that given 3 parameters accesses a database and returns 1 value. When run from Visual Studio 2005, the Webservice returns the correct information from the database with no problems. I have created a new Virtual Directory in my local IIS that points to the VS2005 folder where the Web Service is. When I run the Web Service from the browser like...

Our web application requires that when a new Organization is created,a separate Database is to be created for the corresponding organization, so that each organization remains a separate entity with their corresponding employees(This is our clients requirement, so that they can later provide the backup of the database if the organization decides to move out). And for that what we intend to do is restore the backup of database which already...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
