How to decrease primary log space usage during restore?

All,

I have a interresting problem here. Doing a redirect restore (copying
database from 1 system to another). This other system has less available
diskspace to it for the log files. This thus causes a problem when doing the
restore since after a rolforward the system tries to create all primary log
files and then fails since there is not enough space.
Adjusting the LOGPRIMARY parameter clearly has no effect until after the
"old" setting has come into place first.

Now how/what can one do (without adding more disk space) to prevent this
from happening? The db2relocatedb command does not have a option to change
the LOGPRIMARY and updating the db cfg is of no point since the db will
still try to create all primary log files 1st. (I tried this, by adjusting
the logprimary after the restore, before the rollforward but to no avail).

Thanks.

Taking a course on SQL. They are saying you can get better performance by having multiple files for a group. They then graphically show an example of "Primary" with multiple data files. I have tried altering PRIMARY to have multiple data files and I get and error. I have tried creating a new database with multiple PRIMARY files and get an error. I can ALTER and CREATE secondary files with multiple data files with no

Hi, I've written a somewhat large program over the years (70.000 lines of code). When compiling the program I get a 2MB exe file. When running this program I get an corresponding image in the task manager showing a 40 MB memory allocation . Yes, the program allocates memory dynamicaly, but no where near this amout of memory. Of cause I expect some .net stuff is probably also contained in this allocation. However, if reinstantiating the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
