Hi!
I'm currently trying to move from MS SQLServer to MySQL, running on
windows XP.
When trying to connect to mysql on localhost with mysql control center
I get the 2013-error "Lost connection to MySQL server during query".
I can connect from command line. If I do so, and change passwords by
using OLD_PASSWORD('<password>'), control center runs nicely, but then
ByteFX fails to connect with "Access denied for user...".

Hi all,
I'm running DB2 8.1.5 on Windows 2000 professional SP4.
When I try to start Control Center, I see the splash
screen for a while, then it closes and nothing else happens.
It happens with "Activity center" (Since I'm running the
italian version, I don't know the
english name of this tool, I mean db2tc.bat).

We're having some problems trying to get the Control Center app working
across a firewall.
I've opened up TCP port 50000 as per the instructions I received, but I'm
still not able to connect. Are there any other ports (either TCP or UDP)
that I need to open? Any secondary connections?

I upgraded my workstation (Windows XP Professional) DB2 UDB ESE version 8.1
fixpack 8 to fixpack 9. After the upgrade I'm not able to start the
Information Center, nor start the General Help from the Help menu in Control
Center. The message is 'The page cannot be displayed' in Internet Explorer.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what might be wrong ?

I am using dual monitors on a dual head ATI AGP4x video card. I installed the
Nov 11 2005 release of ATI's catalyst control center with Hydravision to
manage the dual monitor setup. I recently updated to .NET v2 and run Zone
Alarm Internet Sec Suite 2006 for firewall and av.
When I log off/shut down the computer a dialog box appears as follows:
End program-.NET-BroadcastEventWindow .1.0.5...
Shutdown hangs up and I must click End Now...

We are just starting to use DB2. I have a question about Control Center and
port 523. Our DBA set up a database that listens on port 30280 (I have no
idea where that port number came from...). Our security guy opened that
port so I can access it from my workstation. It seems to work, but Control
Center seems to also want to connect to port 523 first. Since port 523 it
being blocked by the firewall it takes a while to timeout before it...

Does anyone have any idea what the following file might be, and why it gets
created?

Data\IBM\DB2\db2tools\.databean.jdbclob
It appears to be created by the DB2 Control Center application. It appears
to be a text file that gets written to where there is a JDBC error. Here's
an example of what is in it:
