Hey guys,
I am currently studying in computer science at UofT and sadly due to financial reasons will not be able to partake in the next semester of classes. I do not wish to waste my time nor have a very difficult time finding a job after graduating (or during studies). So I was wondering if you guys could recommend any courses/certificates/book that will help in securing a job?
I would say my knowledge is intermediate in Java, HTML, PHP, MySql, and Python. Those are all that I know. Please do not shut me down I only spent my time modding and not coding as much. I don't count website building cause its not really programming.
Any help is greatly appreciated in advance!

Hey,
The best thing that I can think of is not so much in certifications but more in experience. With the technologies you know you could very easily work on some web development (Not websites but web applications) and with a little bit of research you could make the transition to mobile as well.
I recommend creating a github account and put all of your personal projects onto it. You can also freelance and build a resume that way. With that kind of experience that you can show to potential employers, getting a job would be much easier.
You can also take some courses on here https://www.udacity.com to strengthen your knowledge.
Good luck!

I was looking for an MS NG where I could post this question but couldn't
find any, so here goes.
What's more valuable to companies, a Master of Comp. Engineering degree or a
company certification (Oracle, MS, etc..) ? I'm a Computer Engineering
graduate student (w/ a BS in Computer Science) and I was looking for salary
information and where the hot jobs are, and with every search I execute, I
kept getting pages on how MS certifications...

Hi all,
I am interested in getting certified and want advice about what would
be best.
We have not fully switched to VS2005 at my work yet, still running 2003
for almost everything. I have heard that the new certification is much
different; even has a different name! So I guess my first question is,
from a self-marketability stand point, should I aim for MCAD/MCSD
around 1.1 or the new certs around 2.0 ?

Sorry this isn't directly concerning a programming language but I
wanted to reach real programmers. I am in college right now and am not
really interested in investing 3 more years of my life for a Bachelors
degree. I know that I can learn more about computer programming if I
spent the time over the next 3 years reading books and programming at
my own pace rather than an instructors pace, as well as not needing to
take so many electives,...

Hey guys, I have a question that needs some opinions to finalize my decision. I'm 1 year away from getting my 4-year degree in Info. Security, but I have no certifications for anything. No A+, no CISSP, & etc. Question is, is it worth the extra time, money, & busy schedule to get certified at various levels of an IT background to prove you can to these things to future employers? Yes, I know experience in the IT field is worth it's weight in...

Is there any way to make my transcripts of the DB2 certifications
viewable for public ?
Right now only I can view my scores , but I am unable to give an
access to let others view my scores... Is there any thing similar to
brainbench.. where you can make your transcripts as public viewable
Also the bad part with DB2 certifications is , they don't send a Hard
Copy :(
you can take a print out ... but printout doesn't seems genuine

Wasn't sure where to post this...
I needed opinions on web certifications. I'm learning overall web/database
development (HTML/CSS, Actionscript, Javascript, PHP, MYSQL, ASP.NET). These
are my goals.
I'm not going to school for any of it.
What are your opinions on this? Do I need to go to school for this (I don't
see why...)? Could I get a certification somewhere? If so, where and what

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
