fastest way from input to output

8 New Member
hey all,

I was wondering what is the fastest way from stdin to stdout in c++
Is there a way so you dont have to save the input in a variable and then std::cout it immediately?
another problem using a variable is that you dont know the type of what's inserted.

Does anybody have a clue? :-) thx very much !

You will have to use an intermediate variable.

You know the type being received from stdin. They're all bytes that can be held in an int. The trick is receiving three bytes 123 and getting them into one int. Most likely, you will need to parse your input to the correct type before outputting to stdout.

and what if i dont know what type of value is inserted. It seems i gotta use something then that can hold every type of input, not just integers

Yes, store the input as a string. You can always attempt to parse it later for integers or whatever.
