I would like to know when does memory allocation is done ? during compiletime or during runtime ?

I would like to know when does memory allocation is done ? during compiletime or during runtime ?
Dynamic memory allocation is done at run time.

you print it as for example
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. int*   intPtr;
  2. intPtr=new int;
  3. if(intPtr==NULL)
  4. cout<<" Memory allocation fail. \n"
  5. exit(1);
  6. }
  7.  
if your program can not locate a memory then your program will stop
