regular Expressions

I need to use regular expression validator to validate a course code which takes the format of AAAA-071AE which is stored in a database. each course code is different
can anyone help???

Do you know anything about regexs? Have you started to think about this...

It seems that you need to have 4 letters followed by a '-' and then 3 numbers followed by 2 more letters. Since you know this format it shouldn't be that hard to write a regular expression that will validate this.

If you post what you have so far then we can help you and figure out whats wrong with your expression.
