Hi there....
i got a quick one for you guys. i've this session variable that is
updated by calling a server method (i set this value when the user
hits a submit button in my form. The server method is called when i
load all my asp forms.). I'd like to be able to update this session

(something that will call my server method each 2 min lets say,
without refreshing my page...

Hi,
Is it safe to put my objects that are managed c++ wrappers to the
session? I want to pass them from one page to the other in the session
object but I noticed strange (maybe it is ok) behaviour: sometimes
destructors from unmanaged classes (that are being wrapped by my
wrappers) are called when it's not needed.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Regards,
mirek

A dataset is saved in session state. Then the dataset is filled out with the
new records using a dataadapter. It appears then that the dataset saved in
session state contains the new records even without saving the updated
dataset.
Why does this happen? How can I preserve the dataset saved in session state
from automatical updating?
Thank you.

If I am using FormsAuthentication, is there a way to check who is logged in?
I want to be able to check at any particular time, not just how many people
are logged in, but who they are.
One thing I want to do is not allow someone to log on from one browser and
then log on again at the same time time from another browser. Or to prevent
someone from using the same login at the same time.
Thanks,

Hi guys!
I have an issue that needs urgent resolution. Imagine this scenario:
You have:
1 production server running Windows Server 2003, IIS6 and an instance
of MSDE 2000.
There is an asp.net app (written in C#) running which has the only
purpose of rendering a page with a "Next" button on it and some status
info. When the user clicks the next button, an event is written to the

I have an ASP.Net 2.0 app that needs to jump out onto another web
server running a java server page website (Apache TomCat 4.1.12) that
I control. I hate that it needs to do this, but we are using some
internet GIS mapping web tool that comes "precanned" with lots of
mapping ability and its pages run on JSP. Theasp.net Session_End event
is quite important to catch as there is a lot of cleanup that needs to
happen in the database relating...

Something strange has just started to happen as I have been developing
a db application on a site. Suddenly a session variable has stopped
working as I pass it from 1 page to another (I am sure it was OK a few
days ago).
I have done some tests.
$temp = 67;
echo $temp; gives 67 on this page
S_SESSION = $temp;

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
