Dealing with "Han from China"

The troll calling himself "Han from China" has made a habit of
starting a new thread for each followup, with a meaningless subject
line such as "(part 33) Han from China answers your C questions...".
He often writes things that call for a response. The result is that a
disturbingly large proportion of the current traffic in this newsgroup
is in threads with "Han from China answers your C questions" in the
subject header.

On the first such article, the troll generally quotes the subject
header of the article to which he's replying in the body of his
followup.

Here's my suggestion. If you must reply to one of this troll's
articles, change the subject back to what it was. Or, if you can
manage it, post it as a followup in the original thread (this requires
finding the original thread, which may be non-trivial depending on
your newsreader).

Has any one ran into this problem? I'm trying to debug an error on a remote ASP.NET server. I've set <customErrors mode = "Off"> in the web.config but it does not give a detailed, non-filtered error but rather a standard generic error that tells me to set <customErrors> tag to off. Am I doing something wrong or miss a configuration item? Thanks.

I've tried to create 11 textboxes as variables (not actually visible in the program, not in Windows Form Designer) and have set DataBindings to the text properties of the TextBoxes BUT according to tests I've run, it says that the DataBindings exist, but the IsBinding is set to False, and is ReadOnly (the bindings exist, they just aren't active AND I can't/don't know how to make them active). Is there any way to allow these 11 textboxes'...

Hi. I tried to design a custom web control which can flexibly and dynamicly let the control user ,for example the web page developer, customize its layout codes. This control derives from System.Web.UI.Control,and for my purpose,I define a delegate property in the control's class definition, so control user can define his(or her) method out of the class definition and add his(or her) method to the delegate chain. I also override the Render...

Dear All, Now I met some performance problems in my application. Because according to our business. The size of some web forms are larger than 1xxx MB. So it takes a long time for user opening a web page. Surely we are modifying some source code for performance improvment. But now i'm thinking should we improve the application performance by IIS Compression? I saw many mentions from Google/Yahoo. Some people said it can be useful for...

Hi, Below is sample output in x12 EDI format. I'm using vb.net to create this output file but i'm not sure if .NET has any tools to make the coding more organized and/or efficient. Right now the only way i can think to create each segment is by hardcoding the different elements into a string. For example, to create the N1 segment i'll do this: Dim sN1 as string = "N1*IM*" & drv("importer_name") & "*" & drv("consignee_code") & "*" &...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
