Has anyone used the Vector Draw (www.vdraw.com) Component in Visual
Basic. I need to create an application to be able to draw the plan
view of a building. Any help in this regard would be highly
appreciated.

I'm struggling with how to handle, on a web page, images that contain
text that the user must be able to read. Examples: tombstone photos,
photos or scans of historic documents (handwritten or typed), a map with
place names, route numbers, etc.
(An appropriate alternative for audio UAs would be provided and is not a
part of my concern).
I see two ways to handle these images:
1. Dynamic scaling, with the source image containing enough...

Hi,
I have an inherited DataGrid, that does lots of extra stuff. For exemple
drawing a backgroundimage in every cell. The problem is that it's taking too
much time (using gdi+), so I want to do it using DirectX. I downloaded
already the DSK etc, but I can't find how I need to draw an image on a given
position. I don't need stuff to write advanced 3D-games, just painting that
image. Can anybody help me with this? I'm already looking for...

I'm trying to display thumbnail images in a Listview that look more like the
Windows thumbnail view. Everything is working pretty good, but my
thumbnails are decidedly not like the Windows thumbnails.
View the following snapshot to compare the Windows thumbnails (top) to my
ListView thumbnails (bottom):

It looks like the Windows thumbnails retain their proportion by, perhaps,

Hello,
I have a form in which I draw a grid in the paint event. Works fine, except
when using the scrollbars.
Autoscroll is switched on, I use doublebuffering and userpaint and
AllPaintingInWmPaint are true.
When using the scrollbars sometimes some lines are not drawn or drawn twice.
The gridlines distort in the scrolled region.
As far as I can tell the clipregion is the whole window, so that can't be
it. Besides, it only goes wrong when...

Hi!
This discussion may help other programmers get a better idea of how to save
uploaded images through a website.
Why? Well currently, I save 3 versions of every uploaded image on my own
little website:
1. Small: DOWNsize of original image to be used as a thumbnail.
2. Medium: DOWNsize of original image to be used as user avatars/icons in
forums or profiles.

Hello web experts, a question form a lonely beginner in HTML and CSS crying out for help!!,
I am trying to stack 5 images of the same dimensions next to each other horizontally as the top bar of my website. I am adding them separately as they will move around from page to page, and will also be links.
I have floated the 5 images left, and they have white margins vertically where the edges of the images meet when i want them to sit flush.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
