Hello,
Auditors want us to log out a user if the computer they are logged onto
has been unused/inactive for a set period of time. It's trivial to
logout the user, but we're having trouble telling if the system is
indeed inactive. If we could learn that information, then we'd need to
measure how long it has been like this so we can all the logout
function. How might this determination and measurement be approached?
We're using Python...

We have a couple of Oracle (8.x and 9.x) install on Sun Solaris
platforms. On most of the servers we have a very strange problem
1. When Oracle is started in the morning, memory usage is very low.
2. During the course of the day the memory the memory increases upto
50-60GB
3. When I check the active connections in Oracle (v$session table), I
find that out of 80-100 connections, only 5-10 are active whereas the
others are inactive.

I was wondering how you handle active/inactive elements in a combo box.
Let's say you have a combo box to select an employee. Joe Blow has
been selected for many record however Joe has left the company and has
been flagged inactive. If you have a filter on the rowsource like
Where Active = True
then Joe's name would not show up in the combo list. This would be fine
if the combo is associated with a field that is null/0. It would not be...

The menu drop down icons (only the gray inactive icons) look horrible
in Windows Classic Theme. Once they are active and have color, they
look fine. If we switch to XP theme, they look just fine. Anyone else
run into this problem with python rewriting "shotty" inactive icons in
the Windows Classic Theme?
ANY help appreciated.
Best,

I' d like to list all inactive clients.
Inactive client is a client who hasn't had invoice for 2 months.
I use INNER JOIN to join invoice view (vwDok4FSFZGrid) and clients
addresses table (adr_Nazwa). I skip empty values (adr_Ewid.adr_Nazwa !
=''). I select only invoices with date after the interesting date.
So now I can list all active clients but i can't negate this result
set to get all inactive clients:

At first, it's easy to say (have a policy) that we'll hard-code for
statuscode='ACT' (or maybe instead statuscode <'INA') but I think that
pigeonholes us and would cause limitations.
Example: We want to develop an Employee search screen. Obviously, we don't
want inactive records to be displayed.
The tables look like this:
Employee

I need to keep every record that a user deletes, but set it's status to inactive. I have done this, but now when the user marks this record inactive, how can I refresh the form (I am filtering to view only "active"), but capture the bookmark of the previous record, so that record displays, not the first record in the recordset?

Hi,
I was working on a screen capturing application which must do its work
when a key (eg: CTRL) is pressed while the application is resides in
tray as a notification icon.
I mean, while my application resides as a notification icon, it must
do the work when a specific key is pressed such as CTRL.
Is it possible to work for an app which hasn't got focus and which is
inactive?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
