Hello,
I have written a simple c code to read a text file with strings and convert the data in to integers and write to another file. I am trying to introduce new line charectar in some places. Can anyone help me how to do this.Here is sample of my code
char z[50];
int y,i=0;
FILE *file,*wfile;
:
:
while(!feof(fil e)) {
fscanf(file, "%s", &z);
printf("value of z is %s ",z);
y = atoi(z);
printf("value of Y %d\n", y);
fprintf(wfile," %d ",y);
if (getc(file) == '\n')
{
fputc('\n',wfil e);
// i++;
}
}
This worked when I introduced newline into a file with strings... Any advice????

If you want to do that way then how will you rean back from the binary file?
I think you should use a structure to fill the values first and then write it to binary file and read back using the same structure.

Thanks for your comments Raghu.Iwould give structures a try. I do not need to read back the data. I am just trying to learn string manipulations and file manipulations.

Hello, all.
I am writing a program that parses an html report (generated by
another program).
I use the Open "C:\...." for Input As myValue method to open
the html, and read through it line by line, using "Line Input
#myValue, myLine" to do so.
My problem is that there are, occasionally, unusual Unicode characters

I'd like to overwrite just one line of a binary file, based on a
position set by seek(). Is there no way to do this? As far as I can
tell I need to read the whole file, change the line, and write it all
back out. Not exactly easy on the memory, but I see no other solution.
so far:
patchme.seek(offset)
patchme.write(a2b_hex(edit)) # the...

if you create a new file , open it and only hit enter then save. if you use
seekg(0,ios::end) and then tellg(), tellg() will return 2 (not 1); so new
line character is considered as two characters.
Is there a possible way so new line character can be considered (reading and
writing) as one character ? I need that in my program and the new...

Hello,
I have found some peculiar behaviour in the fgets runtime library
function for my compiler/OS/platform (Dev C++/XP/P4) - making a C
console program (which runs in a CMD.exe shell).
The standard says about fgets:
synopsis
#include <stdio.h>
char *fgets(char *s, int n, FILE *stream);

Hi, I've written the following code to copy one files contents line by

Hello everyone!
I got a problem with creating new line...
I tried this: lstrcpy(NewLineIdr, TEXT("\r\n"));

I need it to use it in my saving procedure because I need to create
tabullary text file. But my effort usually results in one...

Hi,
currently I am reading a huge (about 10-100 MB) text-file line by line
using
fstreams and getline. I wonder whether there is a faster way to read a
file line by line (with std::string line). Is there some way to burst
read the whole file and later "extract" each line?
Thanks in advance,

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".

This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
