Hi ALL,
Is there any place from where I can download C++ language
specifications? I am looking for C++ specifications means how function
call works, how memory is allocated etc... I am searching for such
specifications or standards which is provided for compiler
development. I think such standards must be written somewhere using
which different vendors provide their compilers. Reason I am looking
for such standards is I want to go deep into C++ and want to know how C
++ is designed. After working 4yrs on application side using C++ I
like to dig deep inside C++ specifications.
Thanx in advance for your help.

I agree!
This book is a deep view of C++, Maybe, the source code of GCC is also a
good stuff. This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

Hi all,
i started a little "practical language comparison" - practical
in the sense that i compare how actual distributions and versions
and their libraries (not abstract language specifications) solve small
test cases like the 8 queens problem.
Currently there are contributions for 17 different languages, and
none for Phyton (and Lisp. And Forth. And many others ).
If someone is interested in contributing a few implementations,

Hi group,
I am a bit cconfused with the different tags I encounter to start a script.
I used to use: language="Javascript"
Nowadays I use: type="text/javascript"
I did see some javascript1.2 (i think) too, but never used that.
But when I let my favorite editor (Eclipse) do some codecompletion I get:

Greetings.
Do any popular browsers correctly support <q>, at least for Western
languages? I've noticed that Mozilla uses the standard English
double-quote character, ", regardless of the lang attribute of the HTML
document. Will any browsers render German-style quotes or French-style
guillemots for lang="de" and lang="fr", respectively?

Tristan

Antti & all interested,
The draft description of my language to replace C is available at:
http://nahas.is-a-geek.com/~mike/MyC.pdf
I am a long time C programmer (I read the old testament in 1987) and
I've tried to keep the spirit of C and make as few changes as possible.
I was mostly driven by the bloat of C++ and, now, C99. I was also

I've been utilising C for lots of small and a few medium-sized personal
projects over the course of the past decade, and I've realised lately
just how little progress it's made since then. I've increasingly been
using scripting languages (especially Python and Bourne shell) which
offer the same speed and yet are far more simple and safe to use. I can
no longer understand why anyone would willingly use C to program
anything but the lowest...

When we talk about safe code regarding C#, what do we realy mean? Is safe
code the same as managed code literally?
Why people say that C# is a component-oriented language?
What differences there exist between an event and a method in C#?
What differences there exist between a properties and an attribute in C#?
Why we need to write unsafe code, like inline C code sometimes in C#?

Hi,
can't figure this one out, what's the CSS way to specify the language?
In HTML it would be simply an lang="xx" attribute, or XHTML
xml:lang="xx", but, how about in CSS? This would be required for a
screen reader (text to speech) for accessibility, to help the reader
software use the correct presentation method (e.g. correct language
module).

in March, i posted a essay “What is Expressiveness in a Computer

I was informed then that there is a academic paper written on this

Hi all,
Just wondering whether there's any reason why exception specifications are
enforced at runtime, rather than at compile-time like in Java? (This was
prompted by reading an article on GOTW, incidentally.) Is there something
about C++ that makes it harder/impossible to check at compile-time?
Cheers,

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
