Hello all. First off, I am not a programmer so this question is not related to a problem that I created myself.
I am not quite sure what is going on, but I do know that C++ is screwing up. Now I am not sure on what exactly triggers the error, but when I try to install some programs on my computer and use them or visit certain websites, Firefox will throw an error.
Here is what the error box is telling me:
Assertion failed!
Program: ...rogram Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox .exe
File: ../../../src/share/native/sun/font/t2k/t2kstrm.c
Line: 132
Expression: pos < = t- > maxPos
For more information on how your program can cause an assertion failure. see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts
(Press Retry to debug the application - JIT must be enabled)
If it is a program that I am using and not Firefox, the program will be listed instead of Firefox.
I am given 3 buttons, Abort, Retry, Ignore. All 3 of them end up crashing Firefox or the program that I am trying to use.
Judging from the file directory structure it has something to do with fonts, but I have re-downloaded and installed the newest C++ library on my computer a few times trying to fix the problem.
Can any of you figure out what is going on and maybe supply a fix?

Hi all, I'm afraid this is the second posting of this information as I didn't get a response on the previous post. I will try to shorten my message (i.e. be more concise) in the hopes that it will make it easier for someone (i.e. a Microsoft person) to digest the information and respond to it. I am a C++ and Java developer with over 3 years of industry experience. I've written low level C++ code, in addition to web clients that use web...

Having only recently migrated across from VB6 to VB.NET I'm still
unsure whether or not I should be making (heavy) use of the
Microsoft.VisualBasic namespace in new applications. I've read a lot
of posts in the (VB).Net newsgroups and seen just about all of the For
and Against arguments i.e. not using it = not coding in VB.NET, not
using it = good OO. I'm also aware of the difference between this
namespace and the compatibility namespace....

Hi all,
Using C#, I've created a simple wrapper class for using Excel. I have
Office Pro 2003 installed on my devel machine. The wrapper class works
great, reading and writing to/from Excel. To do this, I created a
reference to "Microsoft Excel 11.0 Object Library", and have a "using
Excel;" directive.
I decided to add a method for creating a TextBox using the
Shapes.AddTextBox method, which requires a

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
