I am currently C++/Win32/MFC & C# programmer using VS.NET 2002 and jumped
into VS.NET 2003 but that was a waste so I skipped VS.NET 2005 cause buying
VS.NET 2003. Now after checking out VS.NET 2008 Beta2 I think VS.NET 2008 is
worth the upgrade. But I want to hold off(five+ years depending on features)
on more further upgrades OSs & ISEs cause of too many releases - too soon -
too much money.... So now going to VS.NET 2008 I want to setup a...

I installed the RTM version of Visual Studio 2008 today.
Initially when I would open any of my 2005 projects (.NET 2.0) it would
simply open them. Now the Visual Studio Conversion Wizard is showing up
everytime. Why is this and how can I bypass this?
Thanks!

Right now I have VB.Net 2008 Express Edition, the free edition.
Is the actual full version of Just VB 2008 coming out soon? Is there
anywhere I can get pricing info? I've looked over MS site but can not
find anyhting on a vb 2008 version, just the express edition.
Does VB 2008 Express edition allow me to write Web Apps? I really
want to write web apps but I do not see that option when opening a new
project in vb 2008 express...

When I upgrade from VS 2005 to VS 2008 and then run VS 2008 linked to my
remote website:
1) what is it doing to my website when the wizard upgrades my site?
Is it only changing the web.config file?
Ist it reversable?
2) when my site has been upgraded then why does VS 2008 want to download
loads & loads of XML files before it gets started on the page I wish to
edit? VS 2005 seemed much faster in starting up

Hi
An outlook 2003 add-in solution created in vs 2008 on a pc with outlook 2007
when re-opened in vs 2008 brings up the conversion wizard. Cancelling wizard
closes solution and does not allow to proceed. The development machine has
Office 2007 installed but as production machines have Outlook 2003 therefore
Outlook 2003 project template is selected for this solution.
How can I avoid the conversion of the project?

Here's what happens on my Windows machine (Win XP / Cygwin) at work.
I've googled a bit about this problem but only found references to
instances where people referred to dates before the Epoch.
Of course at home on my Linux box everything works.
I know that everything has its limits somewhere, but I've never
heard of March 2008 being a problem.
Tomorrow I'm going to write a test loop that shows me the exact last

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
