Admin process from an user account

Hi all,

I am trying to get an admin process started under a user account.
I want to start a process that can install programs under this user account.

Our company now has a full admin access for everyone to there computer. We want to downgrade this to an user account. The problem comes with installing own programs (Users may install what they want.). For distributed programs we have SMS.

So i want something like a install account that I will use to install the own programs. It will start from a user account and runs the install with the admin install account.

I know it is a big security hole but it just is company policy (something with innervations) )-:

So please help me I have tried to elevate the process but with no success.

Hi all,

Got one option for the problem;

Want to start program x with elevated admin rights,

1. Start a program y with admin rights.
2. Start program x from program y with elevated rights.

This will work but is there a other much simpler solution?

And yes by company policy they give Joe the hacker all rights.
I have no control on this policy and the people above me don't want it to change.
In my opinion to it is a big big security hole.

You know, while working on my moonlight corporation's LAMP project at home this weekend, I couldn't help but wonder if people writing similar projects are solving similar problems with having to complete the project by building an installer and building the user/group administration piece of it. The thought came to me that it would be great if LAMP developers, whether they used MySQL or PostgreSQL, could just simply write the project to...

Hi all, I need to find a way to terminate processes running from a VB .NET program. So far I am able to terminate process running for the logged in user. I have not been able to terminate processes for other users, unless the account i am logged in a has admin privileges. I company security policy does not allow me to make these user part on the admin group. My idea was to run the VB .NET exe as the admin user, however the only way I've...

Briefly, the problem is this: I'm having an old Access 2.0 database that I want to convert to Access 2000 on a different computer. The reason why the new database is on a different computer is that the old database runs under Windows 95a...

I am just beginning to implement user-level security in Access 2003. I created a user account and it is assigned to the users group. I would like to assign a password for this account (or for the users group), but am not given the option to do so. (I am trying under Tools > Security > User and Group Accounts > Change Logon Password.) Only the admin userid is available. Is it because there is currently no password assigned for admin that I...
