i have no idea.. if we cant use "like" operator, how do i evaluate patterns in pro*c. Is there any other way to check patterns.

Thanks in advance

This is normally done by searching the string to locaye the pattern.

C provides a series of stirng functions for this.

Hello everybody, I am using Python to prototype a compression algorithm for tree-shaped data, e.g., XML data or abstract syntax trees. I use a variant of the visitor design pattern--called weaver/yarn pattern--in order to traverse the tree that is being compressed or decompressed. I do not know of any other interesting application of the weaver/yarn pattern, but it seems like a very suitable subject of study for different...

Hi, there in the code below I am not sure, if the two 'big' for-loops are redundabt in some way. Could this be made also in one loop and would this make sense? Another question is,if I should implement the maps as bitmaps. (Pro & Contra..on a very first sight, it looked to me, as if the implemention as bitmap would be some more work).

New on November 28, 2005 for www.FluffyCat.com PHP 5 Design Pattern Examples - the Visitor Pattern. In the Visitor pattern, one class calls a function in another class and passes an instance of itself. The called class has special functions for each class that can call it. With the visitor pattern, the calling class can have new operations added without being changed itself.

New on November 29, 2005 for www.FluffyCat.com PHP 5 Design Pattern Examples - the Command Pattern. Since you all enjoyed the Visitor Pattern so much yesterday, today I have the Command Pattern for you. This one is pretty straight forward. In the Command Pattern an object encapsulates everything needed to execute a method in another object. http://www.fluffycat.com/SDCMSv2/PHP-Design-Patterns-Command/

Last month I continued my series of design patterns examples using PHP 5 with the Observer Pattern and the Prototype Pattern. Here now is my 16th example, the Adapter pattern. http://www.fluffycat.com/PHP-Design-Patterns/Adapter/ In the Adapter Pattern we adapt a class we have to provide methods another class needs, without changing the original class. If you work with a lot of classes that you can not change, then this

Basically I'd like to implement the composite design pattern with leaves that are either of reference or value types, but even using generics I can't seem to avoid boxing (using ArrayList or Object) Is this even possible, or is the composite pattern doomed to use the System.Object type forever? I have tried using interfaces with generics, but I always stumble on the Value property (when trying to return the value of a particular node)

First, bear with my xpost. This goes to comp.lang.c++ comp.lang.functional with follow-up to comp.lang.c++ - I want to discuss an aspect of using C++ to implement a functional language, and I'd like the attention of fp as well as C++ gurus if available. The language I'm implementing - PILS - is dynamically

Hi! Hope you can help my with you issue... I made a domain model (http://cedev.com.ar/model.jpg) and what I'm trying to is the NHibernate mappings to persist it. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
