Its a header file, use it this way
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. #include <iostream.h>

Well, there's already something wrong here.

It's <iostream> not <iostream.h> . The changes were made in 1999, so no excuse to ignore them.

To our OP: use Google.

In this case both #include <iostream.h> and #include <iostream> would be preferable. But update version of compilers require #include <iostream>

I have read that the inclusion of <fstream.h> makes the inclusion of <iostream.h> unnecessary. Is this correct? Charles L

Hi, As most of you probably already know, depending on which implementation of C++ you have, #include <iostream> may cause various other headers to be #included too. (I've observed cstring, cstdio, cmath and I think cstdlib in g++) Are there any that the standard requires to be "dragged in" like this regardless of implementation?

After creating a new .NET Class Library project, I then add the header file: #include <iostream> (I tried adding in my main .cpp file and also tried in stdafx.h file.) Doesn't work, and I get the following error messages: LNK2020: unresolved token (0A000006) _CxxThrowException LNK2020: unresolved token (0A000015) delete fatal error LNK1120: 2 unresolved externals

Hi, I have a query. All html tags start with < and end with >. Suppose i want to display either '<' or '>' or say some text like '<Company>' in html how do i do it? One method is to use &lt, &gt ,&ltCompany&gt to display '<', '>' and '<Company>' respectively. But is there any freeware code available which could implement the above functionality without having to use &gt,&lt and such stuff???

Since the include function is called from within a PHP script, why does the included file have to identify itself as a PHP again by enclosing its code in <?php... <?> One would assume that the PHP interpreter works like any other, that is, it first expands all the include files, and then parses the resulting text. Can anyone help with an explanation? Thanks, M. McDonnell

Hi there guys, I've recently purchased "Sam's Teach Yourself C++ Fifth Edition" (About a week before the 6th edition came out) I'm trying to work through the book, but in trying to compile Hello World, I keep getting an error instead of it making the program. I've looked around the internet for a reason, but come up stuck. My only assumption would be that the fifth edition is upgraded to suit newer compilers? (I downloaded Visual C++...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
