Hi all,
While writing a small program to help other poster at c.l.py, I found
a small inconsistency between the handling of keyword parameters of
string.split() and the split() method of strings. I wonder if someone
else had ever stumbled on it before, and if it has a good reason to
work like it is.
Both implementations take two parameters: the separator character and
the max number of splits (maxsplit). However, string.split() accept

Hey all:
I want to convert strings (ex. '3', '32') to strings with left padded
zeroes (ex. '003', '032'), so I tried this:
string1 = '32'
string2 = "%03s" % (string1)
print string2
>32

I have a string like:
"FL:1234ABCD:3:FileName With Spaces.txt\n"
and I want to read the values separated by ':' into variables. I tried to
use sscanf like this:
sscanf("FL:%s:%d:%s\n", lGuid, &lID, lFileName);
but the lGUID just continues until whitespace or \0 is found. I need a way

function. After I do that, I will strcpy that data to a class data
member .
I have the following functions
void Account::getPhoneNumber(char st) //Retrieves the phone number

Hi,
My page has a table with many columns such that the right-side of the
table gets chopped off when printed. I specify a table width of 100%,
but otherwise no cell dimensions are specified. The culprits are 2 wide
columns which contain e-mail addresses.
I can get the page to fit entirely on the printer output if the browser
would break the e-mail address string at the '@' symbol. What I've done
for now is replaced the '@' in all...

If you have any PHP scripts which will not work in the current releases
due to breaks in backwards compatibility then take a look at

you agree with my opinion or not.

This might seem like a trivial thing, but has anyone has come up with a
better way of outputting a singular vs. plural string?
For example:
// default plural label
$string = "appointments";
// singular label
if (mysql_num_rows($results) == 1) $string = "appointment";
print mysql_num_rows($results) . $string;

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
