Crud statistics

For the past week I have been collecting data on the relative
incidence of crud in the 18 newsgroups I monitor. Here crud is
defined as anything that gets caught by my filters, and good is
anything that passes them. The results follow:

date | Sat | Sun | Mon | Tue | Wed | Thu | Fri | Sat
---- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---
Bad | 96 | 108 | 93 | 100 | 101 | 135 | 101 | 74
Good | 387 | 388 | 598 | 519 | 550 | 643 | 409 | 402

The figures confirm my belief that traffic falls off over the
weekend. It does NOT confirm my attitude that crud drops off at
the same time.

My filters are arranged to prevent down-loading when identified.

I have set follow-ups to comp.programmin g, which is under-utilized
and fairly liberal as to content. It is also universally
available. Please do not alter this.

Dear Sql Server experts: First off, I am no sql server expert :) A few months ago I put a database into a production environment. Recently, It was brought to my attention that a particular query that executed quite quickly in our dev environment was painfully slow in production. I analyzed the the plan on the production server (it looked good), and then tried quite a few tips that I'd gleaned from reading newsgroups. Nothing worked....

Hello, I have a C# problem that I hope you could help me with. I'm making a program where I need data from a database using ADO.NET. The problem is that I can't figure out how to retrieve the data without using a datagrid (I presume that a dataset is the correct solution, when I also need to CRUD (Create-Read-Update-Delete).

Hi, I'm facing the problem of analyzing a memory allocation dynamic and object creation dynamics of a very big C++ application with a goal of optimizing its performance and eventually also identifying memory leaks. The application in question is the Mozilla Web Browser. I also have had similar tasks before in the compiler construction area. And it is easy to come up with many more examples, where such kind of statistics can be very...

People, I have an old (php3?) script which does CRUD over a mySQL db. I've upgraded to php5 and PostgreSQL (on Linux), and the script bombs (multiple errors). I'm working through it at the moment, but it's slow going. I have "list display" and "editable" working, but the DB write is not working nor is it posting an error. Are there any all-in-one, single table CRUD scripts around the traps I can pinch? I'm happy to hack an existing...

Hi. Is there a way to generate the CRUD stored procedures for a table using the Visual Studio 2005? I tried to do it in a new database project, but I can't find a way to do it. Can VS 2005 generate them? Thanks. J --

Friends, I'm working on some crud stuff, and I was looking for opinions on the subject. Below, I have pasted some VERY simple sample code. Class2 is a "traditional" crud type object. In a real example, these objects would probably implement some kind of ICrud interface with the common methods. I'm finding that many times, though, I want to use these objects as simple data objects, and I don't need all the database functionallity.

With PHP, libraries, apps, etc. to do basic CRUD are everywhere. Ajax and non-Ajax solutions abound. With Python, finding such library, or apps. seems to be much more difficult to find. I thought django might be a good way, but I can not seem to get an answer on that board. I would like to put together a CRUD grid with editable/deletable/

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
