Hi all,
I am in process of developing a Server in C++ supporting multiple
protocols. The server will be exposing various functionalities, and the
clients can communicate over any of the protocols may be TCP, IPX, SAP,
NETBEUI to access the server to access the functionalities exposed. The
server doesnot know in advance which client is using what protocol.
ALSO, ALL THE INTERACTION WILL BE MADE OVER XML.
example my server has...

After a server accepts a client connection on a certain port, a new socket is
created on the server on a system managed dynamic port to handle the
connection. Please confirm this.
If so, how can I get the number of the dynamic port in the server (in server
code)? Using LocalEndPoint.Port just returns the original listener port
number.
Thanks,

hi, everyone.
I'm writing a 2-players game that should support network mode. I'm now
testing it on 1 PC since I don't have 2. I directly use sockets, and
both client and server do computations, the only data transfered is
user mouse/kbd input.
It works synchronously, but somehow, when I play in client window,
both client and server have 17 fps, while when playing in server
window, server has 44 fps while client ...

I am writing an ASP.NET tool that will allow the client to create their own
online froms. ie the client can add tect boxes, text, drop downs, etc with
absolutely no technical skill what so ever. The form can then be deployed to
their intranet.
The form designer is somewhat WYSIWYG but it contains a heap of 'edit',
'delete' and reordering buttons that are not seen when the form is acutally
being used.
I would love to have a preview...

Hi all
I am developing a multi-user business/accounting application. It is
coming along nicely :-), though rather slowly :-(
I have hit an issue which will require a lot of changes to the code I
have written so far, together with an increase in complexity and all
the bad things that follow from that. Before I go ahead and make the
changes, I thought I would bounce it off the group and see if there is
a simpler approach.

Hi,
I am writing an asychronous socket server to handle 20+ simulataneous
connections.
I have used the example in MSDN as a base. The code is shown at end of
question.
Each connection has a number of different types of data coming in. I have a
databuffer for each type of data coming in.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
