I won't provide any code because it would be a waste of time (since I have no idea what data your trying to work with and your question is too vague)

In general you have some method for inserting an item into your list. You don't copy directly into a linked list, you add links one by one.
1. Fetch data to put in linked list using fread() (or whatever you do to read a file) - read into a temporary memory location
2. use whatever method allows you to insert into your list to put the data you just fetched into your list
3. if you have more data go back to #1

Provide more details if this isn't helpful advice. What exactly are you trying to do and where are you stuck? Are you trying to implement the list insertion method?

Whether browsing forward or backward can be done using a singly linked list. Is there any specific case where a doubly linked list is needed? For people who say that singly linked list allows traversal only in one direction, I would say that using appropriate loops/recursion, traversal in opposite direction is also possible. Then why the need for doubly linked list? --

I'm trying to write a program that reads data from a text file and stores it into a doubly linked list. I then want to be able to edit or sort the list. However, I'm having trouble getting started with reading the file into a doubly linked list. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

So I've made a linked list class. I have a function that initiates this class, opens a file, parses it, and then inserts nodes into this temporary class. What I would like to do is then have it return that temporary class so I can assign it to a permanent class in the main program. I've written an assignment operator.

Hi there, I'm a novice C programmer working with a series of large (30,000 x 30,000) sparse matrices on a Linux system using the GCC compiler. To represent and store these matrices, I'd like to implement the sparse matrices as a doubly-linked list, in which each non-zero cell is stored roughly as follows: int rownum int colnum

Hello: I got tired of trying to find good implementations of collections and other data structures in C#. So, I started implementing my own. However, data structures is a wholly different process in C# compared to C++. I have to be a lot more careful about dangling pointers to make sure things don't get pushed into further GC generations. When I started learning about Comparer and similar classes, I got a

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
