Hajo,
I have two dlls, both of them are compiled with /clr switch.
In first dll project I have managed and unmanaged classes.
One of the unmanaged I would like to use outside therefore
I marked it as follows:
class __declspec(dllexport) Terrain
{
public:
void foo(){}
};

Good Afternoon,
I recently noticed that some very simple methods of a template declared and
used in a DLL library get inlined when used by the DLL itself, but not by
other DLLs and EXEs. After some investigating, I narrowed this down to a
very odd behavior (bug?) of the VC++.NET 2003 compiler: If a class that is
declared as __declspec(dllimport) derives from a template, that template's
methods are never inlined, even if declared with...

Hi,
Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm a bit new to C++.
I've been handed over a C++ app written in VS2002 which I have to convert to
VS2005. Apparently it's been written in a C style, but cannot comment
myself!
Following the conversion I have numerous errors, which following some
digging around turns out to be because _export is obsolete, and

Hello, dear all,
I often see these two import usage in the code. Both are the interface
to use the Dll library. I think they are the same.
Normally P/Invoke means using the to import the
dll. But I have some confusion about them.
1. Is the "_declspec(dllimport)" also one of the forms of P/Invoke?
2. From performance aspect, which way is more better?
3. What's the difference of them.

On MS site: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/esew7y1w(VS.80).aspx
is the following garbled rambling:
"You can avoid exporting classes by defining a DLL that defines a class
with virtual functions, and functions you can call to instantiate and
delete objects of the type. You can then just call virtual functions on
the type."

I'm a beginning c++ user, pretty handy at java already but I want to
transfer to c++. Particullary because c++ is way better in processing
graphical processes and mathematical calculations fast. So I was
looking at some code of a graphic tool and stumbled on this:
COREDLL void pbrtCleanup() {
StatsCleanup();
// API Cleanup
if (currentApiState == STATE_UNINITIALIZED)
Error("pbrtCleanup() called without pbrtInit().");

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
